This book will lead you through the process of developing the presence and personal power that lead to confidence. The guidelines are practical and the exercises designed to be done in very brief periods. Creating Confidence puts you firmly in charge of the timing and pace of your own change. It covers almost every aspect of human communication from personal space and presence, to communication skills such as rapport, listening, dealing with criticism, and presentation skills in a variety of circumstances. It takes courage to meet each challenge of the process, and confidence is the reward. Meribeth Bunch Dayme, PhD is a specialist in self-development in business and the performing arts. A native of North Carolina, she has lived in London for the past twenty-five years.
There’s great practical advice in this little book, applicable to any form of public presentation/performance. Its content is pretty much all included in The Performer’s Voice - Realizing Your Vocal Potential (2005), so you don’t need both, though this one has fabulous cartoons!
