As with many, and the author, I don’t agree with everything here. However, it is well written and full of history. Which I completely enjoy. I do see the need for a Christian influence in all aspects of the world and certainly this includes Hollywood. We must reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ our Saviour… Sadly, most that advance in this Hollywood ~ end up being taken by the roaring lion. One must use caution, Jesus lived among sinners, yes! but HE was GOD. So, one in this industry should aggressively pursue safety structures and accountability resources in abundance. (as we all should). Fun read!
A mixed bag. Some parts are very good and others just aren't. Some parts seemed off topic. Some parts badly needed a copy editor.
I read this book for the first time years ago as a very young man and I don't think I appreciated it as much as I do now, reading it with greater maturity (I hope) and the wisdom that comes from disappointment and failure. I deeply appreciated Schaeffer's insistence that success in a profession doesn't matter as much as loving your children, reading stories to them, praying with them, and so on.
