Down Dark Deep

Rate this book
‘Strange mother; bizarre childhood.’ Kit’s flippant words belie the heartbreak that was her start in life. Chased by the past and a man who wants her dead, she is in hiding. Her refuge is threatened when she stumbles into another man’s madness and his fixation drags her deep into his distorted reality. His sanctuary from a hostile world could become her tomb; escape could drive her back to a killer.

An engaging plot rich in characters, romance, humor, suspense and murder. The settings are dramatic, bringing the reader from the heat of arizona to the wet winters of the west coast. You will either want to read the book with a cool lemonade or under a warm blanket by the fire - either way, you won't want to put it down.

Quite good

Scary, intense, riveting. A very good thriller. A few typos just enough to take off a star but not enough to interrupt reading too much.

slow to start, but then picks ups. Found that I couldn't put it down--didn't want to leave them stuck down there any longer than they needed to be! :-)
Even though I lived through this happening and knew how it ended I didn't know how the story WENT. READ this book. So curious about how they miners are doing now.

The way the miners handled this trauma was very unexpected---the ups and downs, the comraderie and conflict, the despair and coping. Afterwards, the generosity that plays out around the world has unintended consequences. If life were compressed to 3 weeks, they experience it!

Fascinating stories of the 33 miners trapped for 69 days in Copiapo Chile in August 2010.
