Catch the Hatch is a beautifully illustrated field guide to the major mayfly species of the United States. The insects are shown life-size, in full color, with field marks on waterproof, tear-proof material. The detailed paintings and calligraphy are the author's own. When unfolded, over 80 species can be seen at once making comparisons very simple. Folded, it fits easily into a shirt or vest pocket. The guide comes with an illustrated booklet of instructions and mayfly natural history. Also provided are two pieces of mesh to hold and later release the mayfly after it has been identified. This is the first guide of its kind, and is very useful to fly fisherman of all levels as well as anyone interested in the out-of-doors.
