Oh my goodness. We all need mercy at one time or another, but browsing through Jodi Picoult’s back catalog hit hard. A man is arrested after admitting to killing his wife suffering from terminal cancer. The police chief also needs mercy from his wife for cheating on her with her new floral shop assistant. The assistant wants mercy for betraying her new employer. Does the police chief’s wife need to grant herself mercy for expecting herself to be the perfect Stepford Wide? It seems confusing, but as always, Picoult keeps each detail and character clearly depicted. Be forewarned again about the infidelity and cancer storylines is those are difficult for you.

One of my favorite authors and overall a good book but what kind of ending was that??😐 Allie is definitely a nicer person than me… I get the theme/book title is Mercy but definitely could have done something else for her situation with Cam.

One of my favorite authors and overall well written; but I wish Allie had made a different choice. I feel like Cam was not remorseful and gave the impression of “she will do anything I say, of course I’m forgiven.”

Loved it. Jodi Picoult writes so well and draws the reader in almost immediately. A beautiful love story dealing with the right to die, and a parallel love story (or stories) about taking what you have for granted. It was so good… and then I ran out of pages. It would have been five stars had it not ended so abruptly; I wanted more closure of the other storylines and an explanation of the chapter facing pages.
