Title: Follow It! Learn about Shadows by Pamela Hall
Summary: A book about shadows.
Age: 4-6 years
Rating: Yes
Pros:
The book features diversity in its illustrations.
Although the book is for younger children the language is poetic and lovely. One of my favorite lines is, “Clear glass is see-through. It doesn’t make shadows.”
In addition to facts, the book encourages play by challenging readers to “notice all the different shadows”, “make a shadow monster”, and “make their shadow high-five a friend’s”.
The size of the font in the book is oversized, making it easy for smaller children to see and read.
Cons:
For those hoping for a scientific look at shadows this books does not fit the bill.

> How shadows are made

In 1st grade students begin to discuss shadows. This book is a great way for a teacher to talk about what shadows are and how they are made. The text is written a very simple way, which would be easy for a 1st grade student to comprehend the vocabulary being used. Moreover, the book gives great and simple activities that children can do individually and with one another to establish the concept of shadows.
