Title: Follow It! Learn about Shadows by Pamela Hall Summary: A book about shadows. Age: 4-6 years Rating: Yes Pros: The book features diversity in its illustrations. Although the book is for younger children the language is poetic and lovely. One of my favorite lines is, “Clear glass is see-through. It doesn’t make shadows.” In addition to facts, the book encourages play by challenging readers to “notice all the different shadows”, “make a shadow monster”, and “make their shadow high-five a friend’s”. The size of the font in the book is oversized, making it easy for smaller children to see and read. Cons: For those hoping for a scientific look at shadows this books does not fit the bill.
