Odds are that you or someone you know could truly benefit from Meditation and Relaxation in Plain English . After all, who wouldn't like to have less stress - and more enjoyment - from life?
Meditation and Relaxation in Plain English teaches us how to achieve just that, with potent tools that are easy to learn, enjoy, and keep doing. And these practices do so much more than more than allow us freedom from anxiety and they allow us to be a better friend to ourselves, and to the people around us.
This book is EXTREMELY basic. I would only recommend it to people who have never heard of meditation and are looking for something that explains what meditation is. There are a few exercises in the book, but it much more about the theory of meditation than the actual practice.
You can skim the exercises in about 20 minutes for the most useful parts of the book, but it's really not a how-to manual. If you're looking for a book on how to get started meditating and relaxing and have ever gone to a yoga class or know a little bit about meditation in general, this is probably not the way to go.
This author did a good job of breaking things down for a western reader and made meditation and relaxation techniques seem like something approachable. He definitely makes it clear that this isn't an all-or-nothing type of venture and makes sure expectations are set unrealistically high.
I am trying one of the relaxation techniques and eventually may get around to meditating. We shall see...
this was all in plain simple English and all step by step going to add to my weekly routine to start & then my daily routine...starting with calming the "mind chatter"
