Oh man. Adam Nevill is the king of creepy imagery. This is the second book of his that I’ve read (and spoiler I had seen the movie for this book a few years ago) but even still…. This was wild. Very descriptive and a bit of a slow burn at times but those descriptions also are key in making you feel complete dread for the characters. The last 20 pages had me STRESSED haha.
I would not advise reading this if you are planning to go hiking or camping anytime soon 😂 this book will stick with me for a bit I fear. A mixture of friends lost in the woods, meets demonic cult worship, meets ancient dark magic creatures. What’s not to love? I’m definitely thinking this author is going to be one of my favorites and I am excited to read more from him.
