Shadows #3

Veiled Shadows

Rate this book
In the stunning conclusion of the Shadows trilogy, Ellie and David risk everything to uncover the truth about their pasts…

Ellie Coulter is sick of being the victim of the shadows surrounding her new life. She's ready to find out what her parents kept from her, and what that means for her future, even if it means partnering with the one man that she thought she'd never see again.

David Mitchell is grappling with the sobering truth that his life has been nothing but a sham since the day he was born. Although he loves Ellie, he knows that being near him puts her life in danger.

Fates intertwine, and all is revealed as Ellie and David find out if they were truly meant to be together or if the darkness will swallow them whole.

Everyone loves a good origin tale. Cege's started when she was eight years old. She snuck out of bed late one night and into the living room to watch TV. Flipping through stations with the volume turned down low, she came across a rerun of a movie called The Exorcist. She was terrified yet mesmerized.

Cege wasn't unfamiliar with the idea of the battle between good and evil. She attended Catholic school in a small town in rural Wisconsin, and at the time knew the 'age appropriate' stories from the Bible. Nothing in those stories prepared her for the visual onslaught of watching the battle between the priests and the demon for the soul of the young Linda Blair. Cege was deeply disturbed by the movie, but nonetheless a seed was planted that night. That seed grew into a rampant fascination with all things supernatural.

Sleepovers turned into B-rated horror film marathons. Her library card was used to bring home piles of books about ghosts and vampires. She still isn't quite sure who she loved first, Stephen King or Freddy Krueger. By the time she was twelve, Cege took a turn at penning her own spooky tales. That love of things that go bump in the night and scare you to death has only grown stronger throughout the years.

The paranormal and supernatural take center stage in all of Cege's stories. Over the years, she has crafted her own origin stories about vampires (the Bloodtruth series), zombies (the Twisted Souls series), and ghosts, angels, and demons (the Shadows series). She's also taken on the folklore around the Fountain of Youth (the Immortal End series beginning with Ageless). There is something for every reader of the paranormal in Cege's books.

Awesome Trilogy

This trilogy was one of the best that I have read in a long time. They. Were so good that I read them in a weekend. Such an interesting plot. Loved the concept and the characters. Wished there had been a 4th book to see David and Elle fall in love again. Highly Recommend.

Title: VEILED SHADOWS
Author: CEGE SMITH
Genre: PARANORMAL; SUPERNATURAL; SCARY/HORROR; GHOSTLY FICTION; OCCULT FICTION
POV: THIRD PERSON
SERIES: Shadows Series Book 3
.
I really liked this 3rd book of the Shadows Series by Cege Smith. I liked it much more than the second. The first one was good too, but this 3rd one, for me, was REALLY good.😃 It’s a interesting read, some will like it and some won’t probably. For me, it was good. I liked first and 3rd better than the second. I felt like it was trying to be scary but wasn’t or it wasn’t scary for me even though they put it in that genre. But all in all, rating the whole series, I would give it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Overall it’s a fun series. Solid but not not necessarily gripping. Some interesting premises but maybe not enough depth. I kept reading so I’d probably give it 3.75 stars for the trilogy as a whole.

A great completion tho a very interesting trilogy.

I have really enjoyed this trilogy. Each book prepared you for the next installment. The series is about the afterlife. I won't give our any spoilers but I will say the series ended positively. I hope to check out more stories by Cege Smith.

Veiled Shadows by Cege Smith
This author takes you to the underworld and a scarey place it is she also tells it so well you can vision the story well.
It is a love story of Ellie and David/.Ellie has been pulled to the Waypoint for souls by Mikel head of hell and David's
soul wasn't supposed to exist. A group go together and turned on Mikel. Ellie wanted to know what happened to David. There was a lot of things she did not

understand so as dangerous as it was she set out to find a way to David and discover the secrets of the waypoint which is were souls came after death to be

transferred to purgatory till it was determined if they went to heaven or hell or get to be reborn. Fighting for her freedom and Davids soul was a battle to the

end. Who she thought was evil was sometimes not and who she thought was good was sometimes evil. But love and plots and evil packs were made to save them

all. Really quite an interesting book and a new way to see Heaven and Hell.

I have to emphasize the fact that this book (in my opinion) would have been so much better if the author had proof read it more thoroughly!
However, for the most part this conclusion to the series was pretty decent. There was a lot going on. Many questions were answered and secrets were revealed. I did feel like the series as a whole was a bit unfinished and jumped from one extreme to another. The main characters (for me) were still lacking in their depth in this later installment, but I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. Getting the whole series for $.99, I can't really complain. Could have been better, but I have definitely read much worse.

I have finished "Veiled Shadows", by Cege Smith. It was a very fun and easy read, a book that can stand alone even though it's the last book in a trilogy. The characters are very likable and you see the good (gray) in most of the evil representatives. All books have some spelling errors, that being said I found the use of to and too constantly mixed. The book was filled with action and the happy ending was nice. The last 5 sentences in the book made no sense, I think their placement was an error. Thank you for your book I did enjoy it. I received this book for an honest review.

Ellie is back again with the shadows and secrets following her. Who will save her in the end?? Will it be David the man she loves or someone else? I liked this book a lot I just wish you could see a littlebit more into the future of Ellie. I was sad when it ended.

Hard to read

So many typos....and the story got a little drawn out. However, it had a good conclusion.
I will definitely read Cege Smith again.
