I had to read up on EJ and Prissy once they left and vanished out overseas. It made me wonder if Queen ever found out about the twins or not because I didn't know if Teddy knew either. Now that its been somewhat cleared up I have to say I really enjoyed this book but...
EJ, this book seemed centered around her and Armani but it left little to no room for their relationship to develop over a good time before he stepped into Paul's role. I found that really troubling seeing that no child should think that someone is their father when their not. I'm just saying she should've been told the girls the truth instead of letting Armani hold Paul's position like that's not plain disrespectful to him. Not to mention the fact she never even told the man she was pregnant, had she told him nine times out of ten he may not have even been there the night he was killed. I understand this is all fairy tale land but the author could've come with a better way then that.
I even get the whole thing with Armani and Paul and I liked how she was no longer dreaming of Paul any longer but it just wasn't enough time to really say they were meant to be. Then the way it ended with just a sum up of they lived happily ever after was really messed up. Why waste a perfectly good opportunity to tell their story in more detail? At least let us see what type of father Armani is and how his family handled him taking EJ on and her two daughters. I mean wtf?
Prissy and Austin seemed like a good couple if you could just ignore the fact that she was by no way not in love with Teddy. Hell I'm in love with Teddy and I know he a damn fictional character. LOL! I mean that was a mess so their story shouldn't have been that deep, this should've been based around EJ and Armani.
All the other characters were really fillers in this one with no real purpose. For instance Charmayne, she was his fiance but come on, in the opening scene he was clearly not feeling her. She could've been a side note and her fling with the guy could've been mentioned but why waste chapters on them?
Fabian his story with the other girl and Hunter was the biggest waste of time because they had no real play in this story besides fill in. Now that I think more about it I think I really hated this story, LOL! No it was good it just should've been way better coming off of what seven books of Queen? In all it's a good read if you haven't read ALL the Queen books plus The Naked Truth. It just leaves you feeling cheated out of really getting a good story.
This was a different type of read from Brenda Stokes Lee in terms of format. There were a lot of different characters so there were a few different sub plots going on. Be that as it may, this didn't take away from the flow and my enjoyment of the book. It was simply something different, and if worked well. If you've read the previous book you know what went down with EJ and Teddy, but it was so entertaining to see what happened with them before hand. Their passion for one another runs so deep and anytime they were in a scene together it was hard for me not to read faster because I was so anxious to see what was going to happen next. EJ and Austin were so hot together. I was really rooting for their relationship to work although I already knew better, it was still nice to see these two make a go at it. I really loved EJ and Armani together. The way they came together was a bit unconventional but I loved the plot and how it played out, especially the Paul twist, that was just pure genius. I would have given this the higher rating, but i wanted to read more about EJ and Armanj and a little leas about some of the supporting characters. i felt like there was more story to tell between those two. Overall another great read from Brenda Stokes Lee. This book is heavily laced with erotica that is done oh so we'll, so if you are a prude that does not like to read these types of scenes then this book is definitely not for you. If your looking for a spicy and entertaining read then this one is right up your alley.
Excellent, excellent job Brenda Stokes Lee. This book was awesome. I loved that you gave the girls a chance to tell their story. This book made me laugh, gasp, and most of all shudder with delight. I was so happy how everything worked out in this book. So happy that EJ and Miss Priss got a sense of closure regarding Paul.
In short, if you haven't read all the books before this one....GO get your read on!!!
