Could It All Be a Coincidence

Alaina Parker has a lot on her plate. In addition to her issues with her body image and failed relationships, she is worried about her impending milestone birthday. A milestone because it is the age her mother began to mentally unravel, placing her in a mental institution where she continues to live a world in her mind, holding the secret to the death of her husband, Alaina’s father. As strange details begin to emerge at work that are linked to her father’s death, Alaina is left wondering if she can hold it all together to get the answers she needs.

“Walking in His Shadow” by Terri Whitmire is a suspenseful tale full of loopholes. It is well written and the story’s flow is good. There are a few grammatical errors but they do not take away from the story. I found myself trying to predict what was going to come next but the story always had a fresh take just when I thought it was all figured out. I would not pigeon hold this as only a mystery in fear of turning off those who do not read mystery novels. It is really an enjoyable story woven with a little intrigue.
