JET IV – Reckoning pits Jet against the deadliest threat yet – an enemy with endless resources who will stop at nothing to destroy her. From the mountains of Indonesia to the streets of Washington, Jet discovers in a breakneck-paced roller-coaster of action that danger lurks in the unlikeliest of places and nothing is as it seems.
This is the fourth book in the Jet Series about a young woman code named “Jet”, a former Mossad operative. At the end of the last book, we had Hannah in the care of a nanny in Uruguay. Alan, the brother of Jet’s husband is on the way to Uruguay. He is also a Mossad operative. Jet is fly to Uruguay after killing a Russian mobster that was trying to kill her and Hannah.
This book opens with Alan flying into Buenos Aires, Argentina and rushing to catch the ferry he had reserved a seat on when a bomb blows it up; he is the only survivor. He finds his way to Montevideo and finds Hannah and Jet under surveillance and no longer safe. Someone is out to kill them. The action is nonstop and the suspense builds throughout the story. This is about the same theme as the prior book and the action continues. I hope the next book has a different story line. Blake is an excellent writer and I found my attention never wavered from the story.
Braden Wright does a good job narrating the book. Wright is an actor, voice-over artist and audiobook narrator.
In Reckoning, Jet tries to tie up the loose ends so that she and Hannah can finally live in safety. She is helped by Alan and then by Matt, who she thought had died.
Jet has lived most of her life as an assassin, but now... with a daughter... she wanted out.. but her enemies keep finding her for seek revenge.
Jet finally thinks that it is over.... but I believe - hope that there is a book 5.
A formidably fourth installment of the JET series! This book is action-packed with thrills, heartache, redemption and vengeance! The world is trying to take down a mother and child?! It's on! Don't mess with Jet, she brings down a reckoning! Awesome, awesome read. If you haven't started the series yet... What are you waiting for?!
The past comes back to haunt poor Jet as she's trying to settle down and live a normal life. While dealing with the drama, she manages to get herself into a bit of a love triangle as well. Never a dull moment in her life.
This is a great episode in Jet's life. I continue to enjoy Blake's plots, twists, drama, action, etc. Jet's abilities might stretch the imagination at times, but what good novel doesn't?
Like all the Russell Blake novels I've read, this book is exciting from start to finish. It's the kind of book you can't put down. I found myself reading far into the night and waking up the next day groggy! Lol! A great read!
Former Mossad operators Jet and David are on the run. There direction? To eliminate the people trying to eliminate them. Unfortunately these people are extremely powerful in every sense of the word. The best security and talent money can buy. Jets former accomplice Matt a very lethal former CIA operative who had been working for the individual trying to kill Jet is also on the run. Then he was murdered. Matt cleverly was able to fake his death. David also was able to fake his death. Only the director of Mossad knows he is still alive. The three have joined forces to eliminate the hunters. Everything is coming to an end. Will they survive? Non stop action from the first to last page!! Another excellent read in this series!
Jet finally kills the last bad guy left who was trying to kill her. She's reunited with her daughter. She's free! But wait! More bad guys track her down! It turns out that there's one more bad guy. And she has to go after him to finally leave her assasin's life behind. He's really hard to kill, but no worries, because Jet's the best and makes it look easier than it should. And she can always get help from a past flame who she definitely thought was dead.
I did really enjoy this book. I could go 3.5 stars. Jet is a great character and the writing was good. I just wish it wasn't so formulaic.
Gets entertaining right from the start, but even though Blake offers an explanation for how Jets new place was found, its so weak, since she was trying to protect Hanahan when she set it up? It would be a better book if Blake could offer a synapse for those that haven’t read his previous books. I had to go back to “Betrayal” to remember Arthur who I thought was dead. I guess she thought he was dead too. The story holds interest all the way to the end, causing pages to keep turning. Enjoyed it! 5
Jet is against deadly enemies. -Deadliest Threat. An enemy with endless resources who will stop at nothing to destroy her.
Unending action. I loved it. There were small periods of time that slowed down the action between the heart-pounding movement. Jet is a female 007. She moves at lighting speeds, yet is down-to-earth when the action slows. The tension mounts as the danger increases. There are twists and turns that leave you breathless. I'm not being over-dramatic. If anything, I may be understating it. I love these books.
Jet at her best again and losing more men friends.........she is determined to end the hunt for her so she can retrun to building a life for her daughter but the past keeps on coming at her and her firends....relationships build, suprises of dead people being alive and then yet more death and destrution but amongst it all is a very focussed group [is 2 a group???] willing to put an end to the evil men do in pursuit of power and money.......anoether great installment with vivid pictures drawn of people and places
I enjoyed this episode but not as much as the other books in the series. I was glad that Matt was alive and in a way was that Alan died, however I did not see the purpose of keeping Arthur alive as he did not see the need for anymore stories on him. It is almost as if the writer can out of storylines. I was a bit bored with reading this one. Quite tedious, hopefully the next instalment of the series would be better but an okay read overall.
As if the stories could not get any more exciting! Well this one tops the cake so far with fast paced globe trotting action, suspense and twists. Not sure how the author keeps the frenetic pace but i am glad he does. While this chapter in Jet's life seems over there is a hook for more nastiness in the future; clearly enough for ten more books. I am reading Jet 5 now and am not disappointed. Just the kind of acton i want with a main character whom i really like. Well done.
'Reckoning' was another great addition to a fantastic series.i know that when I go to read a 'Jet' book I won't be let down. Full of action, suspense, kick-ass characters and wild adventures. This book had a couple surprises that I didn't see coming. I can't wait to read more. A definite must add to your tbr list.
Russell Blake delivers another taut, compelling thriller - a masterful job of moving the story along and keeping the reader guessing. Lots of action, lots of dead bad guys, and lots to like about Jet.
Russell Blake has done it again! Often times in this series, facts (hidden in plain site from the public) and fiction are difficult to separate. This particular story has some of his strongest writing yet. Highly recommended but do yourself a favor and don't bypass any of the previous stories.
More of the same - good, and a nice light read, but not the energy and force of the first novel. I just don't care for Jet with kind of non-realistic weaknesses and desires of being an ordinary woman/mother.
Jet has been hunted and her life and Hannah’s life threatened... The She Bear is roused and will not quit until she is revenged! Blake puts together a believable story and our heroine shines like the sun as she seeks her mortal enemies! A great read!
Jet has dealt with the Russian threat but is confronted by another when she returns for her daughter. Who is after her now? And Alan barely escapes an attempt on his life. Are both attempts linked?
Mysteries, secrets and lies, action that explodes off of the pages, friendships solidified and the return of a significant friendship. JET-Reckoning has it all, a not to be miss book in a not to be missed series. Very highly recommend.
Another awesome Jet novel!!! Jet is one bad woman & I would never want to be on her bad side. This book has lots of action & a few plot twists. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series!!!
Poor Jet, nothing is ever easy for her anymore. She is finally settled with Hannah when all of sudden there are new goons after her and then it does't stop.
