Wraps: Easy Recipes for Handheld Meals

Rate this book
What's the difference between a wrap and a burrito? The burrito was invented in northern Mexico as a convenient way for cowboys to pack a lunch. Filled with traditional Mexican ingredients, it's become practically a staple food. A wrap, on the other hand, is like a burrito with frequent flier miles. International flavor? That's just the beginning -- wraps accept no limitations in the pursuit of delicious variety. Why not try an Italian wrap with pine nuts and bell pepper? Or a Thai wrap flavored with ginger and curry? Why not an eggs Benedict wrap? Painless to prepare and packed with flavor, wraps make a great breakfast on the go, lunch at the park, or quick dinner. From Cajun spice to vegetarian delights, Wraps features dozens of recipes for festive combinations and extraordinary fillings that will change forever the way you think about burritos. Isn't it time you embraced the greater potential of the tortilla?

Unlike my normal cookbook purchases, this was not for my catering business, but for my kids. I was always looking for new lunch box ideas & this fit the bill. I liked the organization by meal time but this book never really took off in our household, sadly. The recipes we tried were tasty but not great for kids who want to see what they are eating!

This is a pretty good book especially if you're looking for ideas for wraps. A lot of these wraps can be used as jumping off points for your own creations. There are some good descriptions on how to roll a rap and some of the

Wraps, easy recipes for handheld meals by Mary Corporin
We like wraps as they are a healthier choice for us. 50 recipes.
Breakfast lunch dinner and dessert recipes. Listening to this book on tape I am not able to view the pictures.
Trail mix one sounds interesting: book starts out with alpha listing of recipes by letter. Then onto selecting the right ingredients.
Then into the recipes themselves, very descriptive. No nutritional information.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Inspired by a really great hummus-filled wrap at "Mighty Dog" (stop by, the next time you're in Natchitoches, LA), I snagged this book at our local parish library. What a great selection--perfect light summer fare. Beware, any of you folks who stop by for a Maragarita Friday--there's likely some sort of yummy wrap in your future.

We only use 2 or 3 recipes from this book. The ones we use are good, but most of the others are not as simple as the "easy" in the title would suggest, or they are awfully expensive for wraps...
