I have enjoyed reading the Kill Crime series and Wrong Kill is no exception. In fact, it's my favorite book so far. The action is fast and the story line well crafted. However, it's always Slavin's characters that grab my attention the most. I'm not sure how I feel I know them so well after reading the brief but precise descriptions of them but I do and I want to know what they are up do as soon as they are introduced. I even enjoy and feel like I know the "bad guys". Jeff Case has assembled quite a family of friends. I can imagine sitting on the porch at the ranch with them petting Happy, satisfied knowing the world is a better place because of their efforts - even or maybe especially when things don't go as planned.

This is Book 3 of the Jeff Case Series and Mike Slavin continues to delight the thriller reader with his fast-paced blood and gore mastery.
(Spoiler) Jeff Case and his group of vigilantes set up an ambush to kill a cartel leader known as Zorro. In a last-minute change, Zorro asks his son to take his place in the transaction. So, Case kills him instead, unleashing a chain of bloody events that could have cost Case’s own life, but costs the lives of a member of his family.
In this episode, Happy the combat dog cements his series role as a protagonist. For dog lovers like me, this adds angst to the series already high level. Of course, that made me hang on to every word because I hate when dogs die. Don’t fret, fellow dog lovers, Happy survives. There, that makes it a REAL spoiler. Not only that, but the combat Malinois is crowned as another of the heroes in this series.
In a momentous plot twist Spike, the psycho serial killer Case kept imprisoned in a bunker, escapes and joins forces with Zorro and his wife. Not immediately trusted by the cartel, Spike measures his cooperation against his self interest coming close to creating mayhem against both sides.
In a second, but significant plot twist, Case finds someone who could clarify the mystery of his parents’ death – a major life goal for our favorite billionaire vigilante. In the process, Jeff Case gains an ally who can smooth the way for his borderline illegal operations.
Actually, Case gains two additional allies who will play important roles in his fight for justice-denied: an experienced pilot to fly his newly acquired super-plane and an IT wizard for Jeff’s sub-rosa operations. (End of Spoiler)
If you have not read the first two books when you get a hold of “Kill Crime 3,” don’t worry. Each of the episodes is self-contained. That said, you will want to read them as soon as possible.
Slavin’s inimitable style takes the reader through what I can only describe as an emotional sprint. In my case, I get physically exhausted through each of the stages. This is the kind of stuff that Netflix should salivate to use for one of its series. And when they finally wise up, they will.

With a solid plot and intriguing characters, this book is jammed with edge-of-your-seat action.
Wrong Kill is the third book of the Kill Crime series, a.k.a. a Jeff Case novel. I have not read the first two, but this book can be read as a stand-alone. I had no issues reading it without having read the previous two books. I never felt lost or confused. Without a doubt, I'll now read the first two in this series. I'm eager to discover the journey that led the characters to where they are now, i.e., where this book begins.
The writing was clean, crisp, and concise. The author never dawdled or got hung up on long descriptions, which kept the story moving and engaging. That there was a lot of action also kept me glued to this book. I read it in two days.
The author either did a lot of research or has served in the military because the descriptions of gadgets like night vision goggles and various rifles were very specific. The details in the action scenes made the story more believable and interesting.
The characters were well-developed. Each had enough backstory to define them, and no two are alike. My favorite was Spike, though Ace and Fiona were lively, too. The plot was great, had several subplots and a few twists, all of which I did not see coming.
I definitely recommend this book, especially if you’re into vigilantism and gun fights. I'm looking forward to seeing what Mike Slavin puts out next. I could see the Case series evolving further. I hope it does. Don't question it; just read it.

Author Mike Slavin has done it again! I’m always pleasantly surprised when I burrow into one of his novels and Wrong Kill, Kill Crime 3, was no different. Slavin has a way of blending two sub-genres into a well-plotted book. Wrong Kill has all the elements of a spy novel with tactical scenes meticulously woven in to keep the action-thirsty reader glued to the pages. But, in true suspense fashion, Slavin produces the serial killer element into the mix and introduces the wonderfully exciting and ever-intriguing psychopath to quench my dark desires as a lover of thrillers.
A note on Spike: Absolutely brilliant depiction of a serial killer. He’s deliciously wicked yet strangely lovable. He’s relatable and at times I found myself rooting for him (dark right?). Kudos to Slavin for creating such a paradox! I would LOVE to read a book just about Spike.

Slavin delivers a smooth ride all the way through and gives the story punch right from the beginning. He knows story, pacing, character, and the intricacies of solid narrative. And he's always at the top of my bookshelf. What's more, he gives you strong ideas to ponder with all the moral questions that go with them, and in a place with characters you get to know and want to know more about. There's a lot of room for growth as well, even possible spin offs which are always intriguing with characters such as these. I'd certainly have gone into more depth but that would have been at risk of spoilers, suffice to say I do have two criticisms. One, I think the dialogue could have used more work, it felt a little stiff, without the flexibility with which real people speak, a lot of cut offs, talking over one another, etc, as opposed to full length monologues. And two, my biggest criticism...Jeff Case may be a post spec war operator, but he's also a little longer in the chops and whiskers, he is travelling and fighting a lot and didn't complain about any of it! LOL. I don't know about Jeff, but at fifty if I nap wrong my back feels like hell. And if I were running amok shooting bad guys, I'd probably be grousing about it a little. - All in All, well done Mike Slavin. Keep Writing.

SAY YES TO THIS BOOK!!!!
This is Mike Slavin's third book in this series. The first one was "Kill Crime". This book set the scene of Mike's books. Jeff Chase was the owner of an oil company until his whole world was turned upside down. His wife, child, and best friend were murdered. His second book "Primed to Kill" was excellent in continuing Jeff's story. His third book "Wrong Kill" was awesome!! He continues his quest to do good and the cast of characters he has with him, have their own stories. Jeff is sincere in getting his associates to have the same virtues he has. Adding two more characters (Fiona and Ace) is exciting and more to enjoy. In this book, Jeff is challenged once again by the very bad guy's he has encountered in the past. This book's twists and turns make you want to finish it and continue with the next one as soon as it comes out! This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest you also read the first two. Mike is a storyteller and you won't be disappointed. He is compassionate with his characters and storylines. This is a MUST READ!!

Michael, you've done it again. Loved every word and couldn't put it down. Jeff Case keeps things interesting with his 'luck' and determination and willingness to help his family. I was overjoyed, and sad, to see some great bad guys get what they deserve. Sad because you hate to see them go. I can't wait to see what Kill Crime 4 brings and the upcoming confrontations with Tony Testa, Spike, and what will happen to Ford! It was great seeing characters reading Kill Crime in the story. Loved it! Keep up the great writing and can't wait to read more!

I have been anticipating the next Jeff Case novel and I was not disappointed. The thrills and the action were here just like always. And Spike is a very interesting serial killer. The story kept me going because i wanted to find out where Spike was going to end up. There will always be more bad guys and therefore I am looking forward to Jeff Case's further adventures. I can't wait for the next in the series.

A Good Read
This is a good read and well written book. There is action on every page. All the characters are well developed and show growing personalities. This is one book that all the characters are important and needed for the story. I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect when I started the book. The description of the book sounded a little off the wall. Turns out this is a good book. Look forward to the other books. Read and enjoy.

Wrong Kill
OK, here's the thing: everything in this book was so unrealistic and over the top that it made it difficult to just settle in and enjoy it. The author tells a good story but it seems like the target audience must be young adult males. Yes, it's readable and enjoyable to a point.

A very good and interesting story that was well told with a lot of interesting charr.

I try to start strong with a big opening, then have a solid middle with as many twists and surprises as I can muster and a strong ending.
Our hero Jeff Case and his crew start with an ambush helping the DEA. I wanted to start with a big action scene, and I am very pleased. It is more than just a shoot-out in the Vegas desert with twists and turns to start from the beginning.
The team splits up, and each has adventures that all come back together. If you read my other books, you'll know there is no lack of action.
I try very hard also to help the reader feel they are in the location, from Boston to the swamp of Louisana, the Vegas desert, and the Chiquaqua area in Mexico.
