Mind-blowing! Incredible that someone living thousands of years ago could have has such a profound grasp on science and the way the natural world works. Some ideas were way off, but hey no one's perfect. Loved this beautiful piece, especially its rational and comforting treatment of the topic of death. Highly recommend taking in this incredible work and the ancient wisdom it contains.
This book fundamentally changed my life. It was my first encounter with philosophy as the core of all other disciplines, and the effect of the poetic on how we connect with deeper questions of meaning and purpose derived from rigorous inquiry. It taught me how to deeply engage with a viewpoint I disagreed with, how to approach arguments which have since been disproven with more information without discarding the underlying methodology or other aspects of arguments, and refined my capacity for nuance and depth. I owe so much to Lucretius.
