I really enjoyed this book as it didn't have the regular ending were all is well and everything ended up perfectly tied up. It was truthful and relatable. Minister Phillip was likeable as a minister and did not try to come across as a know it all. Both he and Shelby were able to admit that even though they had survived the crisis in their marriage, that things still did and were sometimes difficult. They same with Pastor George and Nina. They were honest and didn't try to preach "get saved and everything will be great". Although I don't know how you can be a diva and an effective First Lady. I appreciated that Pastor George didn't feel like he was above seeking help from Minister Phillip who may be seen in today's church as an underling to him. Both couples issues demonstrated that salvation doesn't guarantee you a problem free life , but what it does guarantee you is a Savior who knows, understands and can help you with those problems. I also liked the Travis & Beryl storyline and how it showed sometimes some people just don't get it and how after you've done all you can , you must make a decision, pray and move on. There was no preachy moments about how wrong divorce is or telling Beryl she had to stay in this marriage or risk the wrath of an angry God. The storyline left you with the idea that maybe not all marriages will be, can be or should be salvaged.

Even though it took longer than anticipated to read this book, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel like this is a great book for married couples or those seeking marriage like myself. I feel like it gives the best perspective of all...a CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE! You can't go wrong when you go the Lord's way. :)
