The book was insightful to how to be healthy and happy. Great fashion tips and make up advice along with exercise regimens and recipes. I tried the Quinoa Lentil Salad and my family loved it. There were also tips for people pregnant slash someone about to be. A fun and enlightening read.
This is sort of a beauty how-to book, since Sims argues that she wasn't born a model, but has worked to make her body that way, with a fleet of helpers. Indeed. Not tips for the average person, really, since it would take 24-hour, round the clock attention to exercise as much and eat the foods and buy the things she recommends.
This book was pretty terrible/useless- another lifestyle book. Why I keep picking these up, I don't know- they're so alluring, but it's always all fluff. Her advice was nothing new, not an engaging voice. I did enjoy the pictures. Skip this one.
My first intention was to focus on the fashion advice, but there was so much more. I liked her attitude with food and believe more people need to understand this philosophy and embrace it. I like that she breaks exercise down to 3-5 minutes, which no longer leaves an excuse to not start. Every chapter leaves an impart of wisdom.
Megh.... I glanced at this through the book at the store and added it to my library list. Checked it out and I was actually pretty disappointed. I like her a lot but the book was a bummer. Just not realistic or achievable for most women to follow this info. I wouldn't bother referencing it for anything. Sorry Molly... I sure like you a lot, but... no more writing, thank you.
I like the model/actress Molly Sims and I liked her book. She's very honest and sassy and where her lifestyle and fitness tips are not for every woman, her message of being authentic is. Take this book for what it is, an autobiography and personal journal on how to have a more beautiful life.
Complete and total waste of time. Nothing in this book that you can't find in Glamour/Shape magazines or by asking the awesome people at Sephora. Disappointing.
I've been chugging through a lot of really heavy, hard reading this year, and I finally hit my burnout point. October was basically my month off of reading and I really needed something brainless to get me back into the game. This book was perfect for that purpose. It's just like any of the other books coming out from skinny blonde celebrities these days, with the same kind of information. I would say that the short biographies of Molly Sims' past were really interesting - I didn't know a lot about her previously and there were some cool tidbits there. If you like easily digestible, relatively bland writing and lots of colorful pictures, this book will be perfect for you. Not a classic by any means but it was exactly what I needed to get out of my reading rut and back in the saddle.
A nice light and informative book to start my New year off with. Some advice given was old news that everyone already knows (difference between bad carsbs/good carbs. Wash your makeup off before bed etc…)
However, I loved that she is straight forward, honest and realistic in giving advice about how to feel confident and gain that “supermodel attitude”. She has worked hard for decades to look and be where she is and it paid off!
I dug this book for how candid Molly Sims is, for the actual great advice she gives on fitness, beauty and lifestyle and for the brief insight she dished out about coming up as a model in the 90’s. She is one cool chick and I, for one, am glad I picked this book up.
Not a book I would ever think of opening up, but it was on sale on Kindle and once I took a look, I looked all the way through. I read it in one go on the way to Joy’s while in the back seat, scrunched up but hoping my clothing wasn’t as frumpy as it probably was, especially after looking at picture after picture of how people can do simple tricks to look incredible (like wear clothing a size bigger so you look smaller. Duly noted). I liked it, I have it, I read it when I’m feeling like I need a sister. Because she’s like that, in a midwestern pull yourself up by the you-know-whats to become someone spectacular who seems deeper than most.
I've read a few lifestyle, food, fitness celebrity books but this one is one of the best in my opinion!! She gives advice I can actually do at my home , it's easy. Also she comes off as very likeable and down to earth like one of us girls who isn't a model lol
Lots of pictures and tons of tips on different things how to look and fell better / healthier.
I LOVE This book and will reread it in the future to keep up with the healthy tips.
What's good is useful, and what's dated really highlights how quickly things have moved in the last (checks publication date) ten years. There's very little that's actually unique, but it is helpful to have it all in one book that I can pull out as a reference.
Of all the vapid, annoying, stupid people in the world, this "book" has convinced me that Ms. Sims is the queen of them. This "book" may in fact be the epitome of all that is wrong our culture's attitudes towards women and Molly Sims just feeds right into it, while simultaneously claiming to be a champion of women. Shame on her. This book should be cited in the dictionary under "things that give people bad self esteem and eating disorders." Also, the interspersed colloquialisms she included in an attempt to be cool were truly terrible.
This book is have a lot of helpful tips from beauty to wellness. I am enjoying this book and the pictures in this book are beautiful. This book is different from all the other books. I felt that Molly what actually one of your friends give you helpful tips over a cup of coffee. I truly enjoy reading this book, would read this book again. Gosh, I know I am definitely using your closet tip for my closet.
I really enjoyed this book,I won it from the reading room giveaway and it has great tips on getting healthy along with recipes and beauty tips a must have for females of all ages!
I liked this book quite a lot. Sims is down to earth, encouraging and gives some great advice about detoxing, make up and skin care that I hadn't read anywhere else. A worthwhile read.
