We live in days when the Christian message is increasingly diluted and twisted. Ancient Judeo-Christian values are no longer the unquestioned norms of modern secular society, and even queried by some church leaders. Today it is vital to clearly establish, defend and uphold fundamental Christian truth and our genuine spiritual heritage. Quoting the creeds, Ulf Ekman gives an objective and biblical account of each fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith. These doctrines form the cornerstones, pillars and framework for the temple, which is the body of Christ. God's truth will stand forever, whatever comes against it. Doctrines is an asset for every pastor and leader, and every believer who desires a solid, biblical foundation for his Christian faith.
Basic introduction to Christian doctrine is a reasonable effort, if a little leaning towards biases by the author. Mostly solid with some extraneous less than satisfying aspects. A lot of it truly reminds me of what I would have been taught as a Child. The surprise is the fact that this author later converted to Catholicism, which in light of this thesis makes little sense. Was this written from personal belief, or from what he had been taught and no longer holds as his own?
