Meera Taylor is ready to start the life she’s always dreamed of. Gone are the days of living out of her car and hiding from her past. With an apartment she can finally call her own and a new career, Meera agrees to give the small town of Morganville a chance at being her forever home.
The only problem? She can’t seem to evade Gabriel Henry, the one man she was told to avoid and yet the same sexy grump who seems hell-bent on stealing her independence—and her heart.
Earning himself a reputation as a womanizer, single dad Gabe has zero interest in settling down. He doesn’t believe in romance or soulmates. He’s well aware of Meera’s less-than-stellar opinion of him, and that’s okay. She isn’t his type anyway. But when Meera’s estranged husband shows up in Morganville, Gabe finds himself coming to her defense and coming lip to lip with what might just be his needle in a haystack.
Oh so good!!!!!! Gabe is a real hard a$$ and after his daughter is dumped on his door at 5 years old he finally stops his ways of women and partying. When he meets Meera again 3 years later, he finally realizes how much he needed her and loved her. Absolutely an AMAZING book! Highly recommend it will keep you turning the page!
I was given an advanced copy of this book for an honest review
I really enjoyed this book! I love a man with a protective vibe. Add in the fact that he's a single dad, and oh my goodness, I'm hooked! The relationship that develops between the FMC and the MMC's daughter is incredibly sweet!
Tropes: Grumpy x Grumpy, Single Dad, Second Chance Romance, Found Family, Small Town Romance
TW: addiction, domestic violence, loss of a parent/grandparent, loss of a child/pregnancy.
This beautiful book starts by showing our female MC Meera meet her best friend, Sadie the night before she starts her new job. Her story begins with so much to unpack, but luckily we get more of her story the farther into the book we go. But we first got a glimpse of Sadie & Jacks wedding night where Meera wakes up in bed with sheets on and a man laying beside her.
Meera is a woman who has been through hell and back. All she wants is to love her new job and settle into her new small town. She gets so much more than she bargained for, especially when she comes face to face with the man she woke up to 3 years ago after the wedding. Not to mention the child that he is trailing.
Gabe is known as a womanizer and he has held that to a standard. The Golden Rule- no women at his home. EVER. Gabe has changed since he last saw Meera, but is a fixer of things. All the things. He just wants to make life easier for everyone around him, which his sister jokes with Meera is his God complex.
These two people are the opitimy of grumps. They are hard headed and want to do everything for themselves. Meera wants to prove that she can handle everything on her own like she has had to for the last 4 years. But everyone needs help sometimes.
Meera and Gabe have so much trauma, and anguish between the two that they don't realize they are more alike than they realize.
This was definitely a slow burn from the beginning. Which I'm not always a fan of, but this worked well in its favor. I enjoyed how involved Meera became with Gabe's family. How they knew immediately that she would be perfect for him.
The 🌶️ in this one was like a 1.5-2 throughout. Some parts I would just give it a 1. The scenes are okay, not anything fantastic. I think the reason why is because they are both so hesitant to just be in the moment and think too much.
But overall I enjoyed this book!

Oh my heart, I loved this book so much! I couldn’t put it down, finished it in a day, and didn’t want it to end. It’s tagged as a Contemporary Romance but it was so much more than a love story. There was drama, suspense, realism, adventure, humor and spice…a very well rounded balance of my favorite genres. The story was so realistic which made it easy to make an instant connection with the story and characters. I caught myself holding my breath, crying, smiling and even laughing out loud several times while reading. It had a great plot and several incredible themes/life lessons. The characters all were dealing with an issue that life had thrown at them, yet everyone took care of each other and accepted them for who they were, no matter what mental/emotional baggage that they carried. They believed in putting others first, forgiving, giving second chances and letting go of the past.
As a teacher, I try to instill in my students that everyone is fighting a battle that we may know nothing about, so it’s so important to be kind to each other. A life lesson that we all have to be reminded of from time to time and this story did just that! It also had representation of some really tough topics and coping mechanisms. I appreciated the transparency of these very real life issues that we ourselves may have dealt with or know someone who has. Manda Mazanec does an incredible job at reminding us that nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes but we are still human and shouldn’t be treated any differently because of our past. She weaves these important life lessons throughout but does it in a way that doesn’t consume the entire story. I also loved the “life comes full circle" moments she included.
I highly recommend Nothing Between Us! I took so much away from this story, and find myself still thinking about it and the characters. This was my first book to read by Manda Mazanec but it won’t be my last. I’ve added her other 2 books, Under the Maple Tree and And There You Were to my TBR.

Thank you @mandamazanec for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Loved loved loved this book. Loved Gabe. Loved Meera. The POV of Gabe reminded me heavily of a few of my close friends and just their thought processes and was, personally, extra fun to read. I could've read the whole book from his perspective but I realize it's a romance and you gotta have two to tango. Kind of a cathartic read for anyone who may have overcome similar situations or feelings. This maybe should come with a slight TW: domestic violence. But easily one of the better romances I've read. Not too sappy but also you can really feel the characters come to life and how they struggle with their own preconceived notions of themselves, love, and relationships. I did find it funny how much of an accident/ drama prone character Meera was through the book but then again I have met my fair share of Meeras IRL. Highly enjoyed this easy read. Devoured it in a day. Will definitely be reading again.
Meera is ready to settle down in a place of her own with a new job in the small town her best friend lives in. She's been living in her car escaping a bad relationship and is trying to become stronger and independent but grumpy playboy Gabe is always there trying to take over with his help. Her friend warned her against him, but she can't seem to stop the attraction and the more time she spends with him the more she sees she misjudged him. Gabe never believed in relationships or soul mates, but something about Meera makes him want to change his mind. I like the positive message this book shows about becoming stronger after domestic violence. Meera is determined to stand on her own and start over and help others out of their own bad situations. I love the protective side of Gabe, not only with his daughter and Meera, but also as a lawyer fighting for his clients. I couldn't put this one down.
Honestly, I love a good book that is simple enough to be a beach read but still has depth in its characters and locations. If you close your eyes after reading a few pages of this book you can easily visualize the characters and town they live in, the writer uses the perfect amount of description for everything. Some books I feel like go way too into detail describing non-important things that you can get bored with the story, this book kept me engaged and I wanted more. I honestly feel like there could be a movie made from this book as well.
The storyline is the typical girl who tries to not fall for the bad-boy but does. While you can guess the ending of the book there is so much story going on in between the beginning and end. There are so many mini-plots with characters and backgrounds that all intertwine together. This is the first book I have read from this author and now I want to go back and check her other titles. She kept me engaged the whole book and if I wasn't busy, I could have finished in one day instead of two!
Oh my heart.. I absolutely love Meera and Gabe's story.
We follow Meera, who moves to Morganville to start the life she always wanted, but unfortunately, she is always encountering the sexy grump, Gabe. When it matters most and the past shows its ugly face again, Gabe comes to her defense.
The banter between the characters is perfect, keeping readers entertained and captivated. Each character is relatable and realistic that readers can relate to their experiences or even just to their emotions. The mini plot twists throughout will keep you engaged and guessing in the story even if the ending might be able to be predicted. There are many life lessons people can take out of this book. If you love drama, banter, suspense, humor, and spice, then this will be a fun read for you! It is easily a book that you can devour. I definitely recommend and will continue reading Manda's novels.
I loved everything about this book. It reads like a mix between Nicholas Sparks and Tarryn Fisher. But better. The character's backgrounds fit in perfectly with the flow of the book. None of the details felt unnecessary. Everything was told and played out in a timely manner. I have zero complaints except I want a part two! You can tell the author put a lot of care into writing this book. As I was reading it, I could see it as if I was watching it on screen. It would be a perfect movie adaptation. 10/10 recommend.
Cute small town romance This is a cute, small town romance that was wonderfully written with a slow burn. It's perfect for the grumpy guy troupe lovers and has just enough angst and drama to keep you turning the pages to get to the love part. If you are looking for love, laughter, tears and wonderful characters, grab this book. I loved it!.

A decent enough read, Meera moves to a town to be near her best friend & encounters someone who she met a few years back. It's not straightforward as both of them have complications but there's a few twists and turns that make it a pleasant read. Thanks to Booksprout for the advanced copy

Manda did it again! I read an ARC for her a few books back and now catch myself impatiently waiting for the next one. This was such a good enemies to lovers that had so many layers to peel. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I loved Meera and Gabe so much and pray there will be a part two.
This book is really just okay. MMC is a total manwhore, but sees the FMC and it was instalove/lust. But then doesn't see her for 3 years. He finds out he has a daughter from a previous relationship shortly after he meets the FMC the first time. And then he becomes reformed because he now has a daughter. He's still with other people during those 3 years. The FMC is not.

Amazing Chemistry! OMG. From the start the chemistry between Meera and Gabe was off the charts! By the middle of the book I was dying for them to get together in the best way. Lol. Great supporting plot, cast, characters and town. A capable female lead and a swoon-worthy love interest are my favorites and this story delivers both. If you love small-towns, single-dads and a woman who becomes someone better than she was at the start, this book is for you. HIGHLY recommend.

The story as a whole is captivating with so much emotion! Such a beautiful story line with plenty of high highs and some lows - making this book so relatable! 10 out of 10 recommend 🤍
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. Man I was not disappointed. I loved this book and read it within 2 days..... probably less because I was HOOKED! I loved both main characters (Gabe and Meera) and their personal development throughout. Gabe is a single parent and Meera has left a life that was truly traumatic. Goodness its so hard not to talk about it without giving away all the deets. One note: I wish it was a little spicier than what it had.
Such a sweet yet complex story full of emotion, truth and growth. Manda knows how to share aspects of emotions on so many levels and it keeps readers glued to each page. Another amazing read that you can't put down and somehow don't want it to end. Excited to see what is next for this amazing author!! Semper Fi Sis! 🇺🇸
Absolutely great book. So well written, I couldn't put it down. Started the book Monday and finished on Tuesday. 😅 I look forward to reading for of this Author's books. :)
I started this a while back then got into school and never finished it. I finally picked it back up and omg!! So glad I did. It was exactly what I needed in a romance. I love her books. I was hooked and almost didn’t sleep because I wanted to keep reading it.
This is a standalone book and it is Meera and Gabriel's story and it is definitely a must read. When Sadie and Jack got married Meera and Gabe met and she didn’t no what happened but she woke up in Gabe’s bed the next morning and didn’t speak or see him again. Three years later and Meera had moved to Morganville to start her new life and career at the animal hospital only to run into Gabe again and she was not happy and determined to try and keep her distance from him. Gabe is known as a player until he had his daughter Sophie come to live with him and became she had a really bad start in life he was determined to show her love and support after everything that she had gone through at the hands of her mother so Gabe didn’t have time for anything else except taking care of his daughter but then he sees Meera again and realised that he is still attracted to her but he is not into relationships or commitments so he needs to keep his distance as all it would do is cause more complications and he had enough of that in his life but things don’t always work out how you want them too. Meera had gone through so much trauma in her life because her parents died when she was younger and then she was in a really abusive marriage and ended up in hospital and then she left and lived in her car so things had not been easy at all for her so she wasn’t taking a chance to be near Gabe and get her heart broken again even though she was so attracted to him. The more time that Meera and Gabe spend together the more ups and downs that they seem to encounter and then add in Gabe’s daughter Sophie who had gone through so much trauma herself that Meera really understood how she felt but when Meera’s past reared it’s ugly head it was Gabe that stepped in to help and protect her as well. This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that had me in tears more than once and Meera’s interaction with Sophie and how she showed her love and brought her out of herself so that she could shine and become a totally different person was a absolutely beautiful thing to see and Gabe’s reaction to it was so sweet and heartfelt. I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting because it was so sad and yet addictive and the storyline pulled you in and kept your attention throughout the whole book. This is the first book that i have read by this author but definitely not the last and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed.
I was part of this fabulous book’s ARC team and am writing a review because I loved it. A new addition to my comfort reading shelf.
The title line appears one time in the book and then it seems to appear again but it’s different. And I loved it. I also loved a lot of the story details, if not all.
Meera gave me clumsy girl vibes at the start, but she’s just an unlucky woman and with that I can relate. Her past is heavy and hasn’t finished with her yet, and though I haven’t experienced many of her circumstances, it wasn’t an obstacle to relate with her (finally, because it’s a common struggle with female protagonists).
Gabe… sighs. It was love at first encounter. And it was hard not to fall in love again each time he reappeared in the scene. And his POVs?! To die for. He can try to lie to himself (and Meera too, given the case), but, as the cover says, one only can do it for so long.
I love, I love, I love soulmate hints. Just special conditions like this one for second opportunities. I haven’t dived enough, but it’s just so much enjoyable when he’s a single dad (and the daughter is so lovely). When the kid gives their permission and consent because the person the parent wants is just so right, for the kid, for the parent, for both of them, it’s just so… beautiful and fulfilling. When he’s so stubborn to admit it, but has obviously fallen hard, and is showing it so much for everyone but is so blind to notice it themselves. I will always love a bit more communication, but one can only do so much, and we are never perfect as humans. Oh! Of course, the protective man, and not just because he’s such a good boy, but because he just doesn’t want you to touch her. Even when she’s fighting for her independence, she accepts that the feeling he gives her is so empowering.
And there’s so much forgiving and proper healing that I haven’t seen before! You can be a bad person and not deserve it, but they will do everything in their power to make you go on the right path. Not only that, they will try to help everyone they can to not pass through what they lived through. There’s no reason to not help each other. We’re all here trying to do the best we can and we don’t have to do it alone, we can do better and reach farther with help.
This book gives so many pieces… I find courage, peace, support, and healing. It was so empowering and inspiring. So endearing and dreamy. A bit frustrating, because c’mon! But happy. Happy and calm and satisfying. It’s so much more than just a romance. It’s fresh air.
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. Meera Taylor is a veterinarian, she moved away from her horrible, abusive husband to be near her friend Sadie and her family. Meera was at Sadie's and Jack's wedding when she met Gabe Henry, a divorce lawyer, and Jack's law partner about three years ago. Gabe did not exactly give a great first impression in fact he was a player who did not believe in commitment.
Three years later Meera meets Gabe again when his daughter comes into the vet practice with her dog. Gabe and Meera still have the spark they had 3 years ago but Meera is leery of Gabe' reputation. They really start out getting to know each other again as friends that moves slowly into much more for both of them. Gabe is very protective of Meera and really supports her and looks out for her with her illness.
The estranged husband, Tom pops back into Meera life demanding a divorce and tries to force Meera to hand over everything. Gabe is not having it and steps in to help Meera even though she wants to do it on her own.
I loved Gabe he was really a nice guy (now, not 3 years ago). He really cared about everyone in his circle and always tried to help everyone. Meera was stronger than she realized but she did need to roast the awful man she was married to instead she was a nice person....
Overall, Gabe, Meera and Sofia are the perfect little family.
A cute small-town romance 🥰 Great book for this summer! ☀️
This was my first Manda Mazanec book, and it was a wonderful discovery for me.
Nothing Between Us is a good, small-town romance, but it’s not just romance, it's a story of overcoming trauma and healing.
The story follows Meera and Gabe and we can see them evolve, not only their evolution as a couple but their personal evolutions as well. It has a good balance of romance, spice, tension, and humour. I like when the MMC has a protective vibe. The relationship that develops between the FMC and the MMC's daughter is really sweet as well!
The story is realistic, but I’d like to have seen more character development close to the end, it felt a little rushed to me (some themes are touched on during the book that are important, such as the story of what’s happening with Gabe's grandfather that aren’t developed) but I understand that not everything can be shown plainly. I would have appreciated it though because I like to read about overcoming difficult situations and how to deal with our emoticons.
So, what can you find in Nothing Between Us?

This is my first book by Manda Mazanec, and it's a wonderful discovery for me.
Nothing Between Us is a really good, emotional small-town romance. It has the perfect balance of romance, spice, tension, humor and so much more. It's not just a romance, it's a story of healing. As the pages turn, we see Meera and Gabe evolve, and their personal evolutions have just the right impact on their relationship. The story is realistic, and each plotline has an impact on the evolution of Gabe and Meera's relationship, which is perfect!
Nothing Between Us is truly realistic, with the perfect level of spice for this kind of story, well-written dialogue and secondary characters to whom we become attached at the same time as our MCs.
I highly recommend this book to everyone.

A veterinarian and an attorney get a second change at love in this sweet and spicy enemies-to-lovers, single dad, fake-dating, small town romance.
When Meera accepts a new job in a small town animal clinic to be near her best friend she never expects to run into her one-night-stand, Gabe. He’s irresistibly attractive and she can admit to herself that she wants him but she’s not ready for a relationship. The emotional baggage she’s carrying is heavy.
Gabe can’t keep his eyes and thoughts off Meera but he’s never been a relationship guy so he’s not sure how to process his feelings and react accordingly. Plus, Gabe has his daughter, Sophie, and her feelings to consider. There’s also the little problem of his exes popping up every time he starts to make progress with Meera, including Sophie’s mother.
When Meera’s estranged husband shows up in town Gabe has a sudden change of heart. As circumstances continue to push them together, Meera and Gabe are forced to confront their true feelings for each other. They strive to overcome the demons of their past to forge a new future together.
A sweet, sexy story with some moderately spicy romance and some darker twists like physical, and emotional abuse, loss of an infant, child neglect, and substance abuse, this was overall a solid work. The more difficult subject matter was well written and presented in a conscientious manner that highlighted the difficult range of emotions in both the victims of abuse and their loved ones. There were a few areas where the story transitioned awkwardly from one scene to the next in but it didn’t detract from the overall effect of the work and ultimately Mazanec’s strong female characters really stole the show. I loved how Meera stood up for herself and took control of her own future despite her difficult past and men at the ready to tidy things up for her. If you enjoy a spicy small town romance with a little more substance then this is a great choice!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4/5)
