Dolores Cannon (1931 - 2014) was a self described "past-life regressionist" and hypnotherapist who specialized in the "recovery and cataloging" of "Lost Knowledge". Her roots in hypnosis went back to the 1960s, and she was specializing in past-life therapy since 1979.
Dolores became, perhaps, the world's most unlikely expert on the prophecies of Nostradamus. A retired Navy wife from Huntsville, AR, USA, Dolores was nearly fifty years old when she began experimenting with hypnosis and past-life regression. The results were, to say the least, quite spectacular!
Working through several different subjects, Dolores was able to establish communication with the living Michel De Notredame, better known as the prophet Nostradamus. His revelations and their impact on our own time are both fascinating and at times frightening.
Dolores has written the three volume set "Conversations With Nostradamus", the series on the translation of Nostradamus' quatrains. This series contains the translation of almost 1000 prophecies, all interpreted for the first time and have been in print since 1989. It is considered the most accurate interpretation of the prophecies ever printed.
Dolores has been a UFO investigator for twenty years, using her skills as a regressionist to help people that had been involved in abduction cases. She has written several books on the UFO information volunteers have revealed while under hypnosis.
Her unique technique of hypnosis is being taught all over the world via the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Academy.
Dolores has written 17 books about her research in hypnosis and UFO cases. Her books are translated into over 20 languages. She founded her own publishing company, Ozark Mountain Publishing, in 1992.
Dolores has toured in the USA, England, Europe, the former Soviet bloc countries, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia to promote her works, and to discuss her particular brand of psychic research. She has spoken to radio and television audiences worldwide. She has given lectures at such locations as: Whole Life Expos in Los Angeles, New York and San Diego; Global Science Congress; various A.R.E. Edgar Cayce Foundations; Conscious Living Expo and MBS Expo in Australia; The College of Psychic Studies in London, England; The Theosophical Society in London, England; as well as many other organizations. Dolores was the first American and the first foreigner to receive the "Orpheus Award" in Bulgaria, for the highest advancement in the research of psychic phenomena.
Articles by/about Dolores have appeared in several magazines including: "Body, Mind and Spirit"; "Magical Blend"; "Connecting Link"; "Kindred Spirit" (an England magazine); "People Magazine" (an Australian magazine); "Conscious Living Magazine" (an Australian magazine); "After Dark" (the Art Bell magazine); "The Unknown Magazine"; "The Washington Post"; and "New York Times". Also magazines and newspapers in Russia, Spain, South America, Bulgaria, Japan and Arab countries.
Dolores appeared on various TV specials including "A Current Affair" (in Australia); BBC Documentary Series "Divine Magic"; "Ancient Mysteries of the World" (a two hour special on CBS); "Ancient Prophecies I and Ancient Prophecies II" (two hour specials on NBC); "Encounters" ( a one hour special on FOX network); "Good Day LA" (in California); "Mysteries, Magic and Miracles" (the Sci-Fi Channel); "Marilu Talk Show" (ABC); "Biography" (series on A&E Channel); "America After Hours" (CNBC); "CNN International Entertainment News".
She has spoken on over 1000 radio shows including Art Bell’s Dreamland, George Noory’s Coast to Coast, and Shirley MacLaine, plus speaking at innumerable conferences worldwide. In addition she had her own weekly radio show, the Metaphysical Hour, on BBS Radio for nine years.
The grumpus23 (23-word commentary) Wow, wow, wow. The book that explains how Delores started. If your read/listen to this with an open mind, you'll agree. Wow.
This book actually gets 4.5 stars. The experience is truly amazing and life-belief altering. This is Dolores' first book, written in 1979/1980 of the experiences had by herself, her husband, and 'Anita' in 1968, but only published in 2009. It was truly a book written before the world was ready. Since then, Dolores has written and had published 15, perhaps 16 books about her experiences and conversations with hypnotically regressed people/spirits. This is not as well-written as some of those, but shows you where it all started. I have been privileged to attend two of Dolores' talks and what utterly amazes this once-skeptic, is how down-to-earth and journalistic she is. If she'd come across all hippy-drippy and star-eyed I would not have believed the knowledge she has brought forward in the first place. And now I do believe :) Great book, great experience.
I love this book. If you have had a past life regression as I have had, you will fully understand how Anita can be several different people during a hypnosis session and how she can easily speak with an accent and feel the same emotions of that person. It's very real and very fascinating.
Reads like a novel! Although the real-life characters are so fascinating, and one wishes to know a lot more about their lives; it is understandable why only a glimpse is provided. It is also interesting to know a bit about the auto-biography of the life of the author and her husband and their amazing life.
Just incredible to think this was Cannon's first book, but I can see the progression, after reading six of her books. I'm just fascinated with the introduction of the mind bending material which the author gently introduces, and I do appreciate the research she endeavors to cover. Quite excellent.
What comes across right off the bat in this book is a certain innocence, or naïveté, experienced by the author and her husband upon encountering a woman who regressed to previous lives during a regular hypnosis session. In the 1960’s, when the sessions took place, there was little information out there about this subject, so Dolores and her husband we’re taken by surprise. They had to act on instinct, figuring out how best to approach the information that came forth, and how to ask questions without prompting the client. Back then there was no internet, so verifying details given by previous identities was difficult and costly, which is why we can allow Dolores the benefit of the doubt. However, some answers to a few questions did seem to me a bit “charlatan-y”, especially when asked about names or other material that could have been corroborated (even today), which is why I’m giving this book three stars. For those of you into this type of subject matter, I prefer Brian Weiss’s or Jim B. Tucker’s approaches, that documented and confirmed many of the given facts. Still, I remind myself that Cannon and her husband were at the forefront of this field of investigation, so I have decided not to disregard their findings. Keep an open mind!
I love Dolores Cannon and all that she brings to the table.
Regressive hypnotherapy opens the door to places that aren't generally explored consciously. Links to soul purpose, past lives, and all sorts of things can be brought to light.
To hear of Anita's regressions and the five lives that she remembered during her sessions shed light on how vast the universe really is and how deeply connected to it all each one of us is.
This is a case about two ordinary people, who accidentally stumbled across past-lives while working with a doctor to help a patient relax. It is definitely a thought-provoking book which I found fascinating!! All Dolores Cannon's books are amazing and will stretch your imagination to new depths of possibilities! I warmly recommend her books to every truth seeker who wishes to study more about the soul, past lives and the human spirit.
After listening to Dolores on YouTube I decided to start reading her books, (in order) I finished this book within two days- highly recommend as it describes how Dolores started out with her husband- very interesting and extremely well written
I'm currently reading a lot, many books simultaneously. I usually try to stick to one or two at a time, but right now I feel like I'm integrating concepts, so I allow my mind to wander to pick up on what it needs the most right now. Apparently, right now it needed to discover the work of this fascinating woman: Dolores Cannon.
I have no idea why it didn't any earlier.
Reincarnation isn't a new subject to me. In fact it, I knew I had been here before since I was a child. It was Thorwald Dethlefsens' books on reincarnation that started me on my spiritual quest more than 20 years ago and I was able to prove things I learned about a previous life in a regression later on. I read books on quantum physics, NDE's and psychic phenomena. I know we don't die. We cannot. We are energy forms. And energy doesn't cease to exist. It can't.
I drank this book up in two days. I've missed reincarnation stories so very much and these have been fascinating. The narration is flowing easily and I like the fact that there is little interpretation. Human interpretation is limited to what we know, hold for true or have experienced previously.
Being german and an historian by trade I didn't really click with the 5th life Anita relives in medieval Germany, but maybe this is due to my limited human mind.
Still I liked the book for what it was and will definately dive into a few other Dolores Cannon books.
As a firm believer in the concept of reincarnation and the exploration of past lives, I found "5 Lives Remembered" by Dolores Cannon to be an absolutely enlightening read. I’ve delved into spirituality for many years, and this book beautifully complements my understanding of how our past experiences shape our current lives.
Cannon takes us on a profound journey through five compelling case studies, each one rich with insights and lessons from previous incarnations. Her detailed storytelling and respect for the individuals she describes make the narratives come alive. I was especially moved by how these past life experiences echoed in the clients’ current lives, revealing the deep connections between our souls and the lessons we’re meant to learn.
What I appreciate most about Cannon's work is her ability to bridge the gap between the metaphysical and the psychological. She presents complex ideas in a way that resonates deeply with believers and skeptics alike. Although some parts can feel a bit repetitive—especially in her explanations of regression techniques—I understand this is likely aimed at ensuring clarity for readers who may be new to the topic.
Overall, "5 Lives Remembered" is a thought-provoking book that reaffirms my beliefs about the continuity of the soul and the lessons we carry through lifetimes. If you’re curious about how past lives influence our current journeys or are seeking to deepen your spiritual understanding, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. It deserves a solid 4 out of 5 stars!
Dear friends of mine gifted me this wonderful intriguing This was the first book I’d ever read on the subject of past life regression and I’m happy to have begun here! A good part of this book reads line a q&a interview all of the different Anita’s are interesting and present most compelling scenarios for that age old question we have all asked at one time or another -Where do we go when we die? I particularly enjoyed the Flapper June and the spirits that were tasked in a purgatory like state. Anyone who goes into this with an open mind will definitely want to know about their own past life by the time you are done reading these first experiences from whom my friend described as “The OG of hypnotherapist “
This is about Dolores and Johnny Cannon's first encounter to past lives.
Personally, I only have read select parts of Life and Death book. I do not have the proper reference to compare to other Dolores Cannon Books. For my rating, I will only focus on the book itself. Also, I decided to start here as this is the first book based on timeline.
The concepts discussed here is simple, but they are interesting. It is cool that this is what the universe gave to them as a starting point for their past life research. The volunteer's past lives shown an easy way for the Cannon's to learn this new knowledge and for the reader as well.
I do not think that this is the most interesting book of Dolores Cannon, but I think it is a good entry point for a reader with beginner's knowledge on spirituality.
I wish that the stories of the other lives were more fleshed out, because only the first past life was properly explored, while the other's are only about general points on their lives. It would be cool to know more about the past life from 1600s Germany.

Dolores Cannon is the wife of a hobby hypnotist who helps people with common problems, like quitting smoking and losing weight. But, one day, his work takes them on the adventure of a lifetime: the five previous lives lived by one woman "Anita". And, this is 1968 - decades before any new age movement would take place in the US.
I can't imagine how wild of a ride this must have been for them, but this book tells that story.
This book is the beginning for world-renowned author and regressionist, Dolores, and her start into the world of reincarnation.
I love the transcripts. I love the details. And I love the more recent footnotes left by Dolores. A humble beginning for what will be an incredible life's work.
This is so entertaining if you’re open minded! If you listen to it (read it) trying to prove it wrong you’ll miss all the fun and just be miserable!! lol Just the thought that maybe this stuff is true had me completely fascinated. The stories of the various different lives were fun and entertaining, whether they’re true or not, I really enjoyed it! The narrator’s voice was so pleasant. I loved the changing accents depending on who was speaking. For that reason I’m really glad I did the Audible book instead of the physical book.
I always love books on this subject and this one also has some very interesting material in it. What makes this book particularly interesting is that it is the very first one that she wrote, although it remained unpublished for a very long time. It details her introduction in 1968 to the whole concept of past life and in between life regression. It deals one one subject that her husband Johnny regressed over a period of come months, and the incredible detail that this lady shared. Very interesting!
Not for me. I confess I have never read any other of the authors work. This one is obviously the first and knowing this made me skeptical. Along with being a non believer in non-fictional past lives keeps me from writing anything positive in a review. The stars express my opinion of the writing quality alone. When you read the author’s trials in getting it published eve after so many other successes you’ll it is not held alone.
Early experiments with hypnotic regression led the author and her husband to explore past lives of a subject “Anita”. This was in 1968 when reincarnation was far less acceptable in the public eye. The story is interesting, well told, and very well written considering it is a first book for the author. Curiosity led the couple to sometimes ask about global events and dates as well as the details of ordinary lives. Eg. JFK assassination
I read this book twice back-to-back to really digest the material. Dolores Cannon is an incredible person who founded a method to channel the subconscious through hypnotherapy. She was ahead of her time and had to navigate the consciousness level of the world around her - hence why this read, which details the beginning of her journey, is not her first publication. This book is an essential read for anyone seeking to learn the healing method of QHHT.
Great, expanding consciousness book! If you want to get it cheap the complete collection of all Dolores Cannon ebooks is available on Ebay UK and Ebay US.
