A damaged starship, a primitive planet – what more could possibly go wrong?
The starship Cochise is forced down on the planet it was about to survey for colonization, plunging the crew into an alien world. Thrown into a first contact crisis, Commander Keyton embarks on an epic journey to repair the broken starship.
The further he travels the deeper he is sucked into the violence, passion and intrigue that haunts this world. The longer his stay, the greater the demands placed on him to intercede.
Meanwhile, other powers are loose on this planet and a brutal war breaks out that threatens to trap the crew forever, even as they stumble across the true origins of mankind.
With his tech resources used or stripped away, Keyton must break every first contact rule and use alien weapons in a bid to survive.
An immersive, epic, world-building, page-turning adventure that will take the crew to the edge of destruction and despair; and the reader to the edge of their seat – download now to experience the journey.
A first contact story where protocol is not followed. The 4 person, Cochise starship is attacked by an unknown space ship and lands on a planet with some damage to the starship. They are not expecting to meet any sentient beings but discover very human like people that are living in a world where the horse is the fastest means of transportation. The captain is seen as a mage because the things he is capable of doing must mean that he is a wizard and has magical abilities. The ship needs repairs and the world has blacksmiths but with very primitive abilities. The crew gets caught up in a war, and two types of humans are found. The planets primitive horse people and a few folks with advanced technology. The DNA analysis shows that these people are +99% human. How humans arrived on this planet is not known but it is a fascinating take on first contact. I don’t know if more books will be written by this author about this story, as in a series but it has the solid bones to become a series.
