I was given a copy of this book when I joined the Change Management Institute, and I expected not to like it ... but as they say you should not judge a book by it's cover. This is a really excellent guide to managing and delivering change, based on the significant personal experience of the author. As someone who has read many books on change management, and even written a couple, this is definitely one of the better ones I have had access to.
The advice is easily understandable, directly usable and makes sense. It is written in a clear and easy to read style. I particularly like the fact that the book challenges some of the simplistic myths of change (such as all the problems are due to middle management blocking change). The book is relatively short - which I think is a plus. It touches on the academic theories underpinning change management, but in a very light touch way.
My one minor caveat is that it does occasionally become an extended sales pitch for Change first, the company of the author, and its product PCI. But the sales bits are relatively infrequent and forgiveable given the value of the rest of the book.
