Watercolor sketching for beginners

Rate this book
Could you really paint your first watercolor this coming weekend? Yes, you could, and my unique digital instruction kit will show you how! You will rapidly discover that watercolor painting is not only enjoyable but highly addictive. When you?ve completed the first picture to your own personal satisfaction, you will want to crack on and paint several more? First though, let me tell you a little about me and why I developed this kit. My name is Jim Green. By profession I am an established author with a string of bestselling traditionally published books to my bow, and when I?m not writing... I produce watercolor sketches by the score for pure pleasure ? and I would like to assist you to do the same. My kit will empower you to paint watercolors even if you are a complete beginner; even if you cannot draw a straight line without recourse to a ruler. Watercolor sketches (or doodles as I call them) are my favourite because they take less time to produce but I even so I still manage to knock out full scale paintings when the mood is on me.

Not that informative

There are much better books for beginners with more detail and facts to help you get started. This book oversimplifies both the process of painting and the possibilities that watercolor provides.

Good Watercolor Landscape Overview

This boom presents a very high level overview of watercolor landscapes. The author suggests some color compositions and nearly always begins with a wet-on-wet wash. If you are an absolute beginner, this book may frustrate you. If you have used watercolors for a while and are looking at different techniques, then you may find value with this book.

No there there

Disappointing, more filler than inspiration or instruction. The chapter on working outdoors consists of little more than advice to ignore observers and bring a sweater in case of chill. How much did I pay for this?

Useful instruction for my Impatient self

Offers clear explanations and examples, but not so lengthy as to discourage. I suspect my approach will be to read, then try, then read again.

Excellent beginner book

Really well packed with lots of info for the beginner who already has basic knowledge on color theory. The rest is motivational to get out your watercolors and play. Very much enjoyed this one.

Good beginnings

A very good, simple book for beginners. Touches on almost everything. It has good information on it, even touching on how to put your paintings online.

It's an okay book

The pictures here are loose sketches and some have been continued in the studio, but I've seen much better watercolor sketches.

I am just starting to waterpaint and I found this book very helpful to a newbie who has no clue on how to draw. It gave me the confidence to try.

Breeze

A watercolorist dairy at best with all the details but you need to do the hard work at least three four timed to get the result closer to the demonstrated work
