"I AM is a fascinating, in-depth and eye-opening look at the very essence of how each of our lives are created in every moment." - Hale Dwoskin, author of the New York Times bestseller, The Sedona Method and featured teacher in The Secret
"I AM is a powerful book about self-realization. Howard Falco offers a profound explanation of the nature of your own existence and an understanding of the life you are capable of creating." -Marci Shimoff, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Happy for No Reason
"This is a magical book that is both powerful and empowering! Howard Falco has delivered an ancient wisdom with a practical modern day application. Imagine unleashing your infinite potential...with the wisdom of I AM you will connect to a passion and purpose that will forever change the way you live. I AM will help to awaken mass consciousness by leading a discovery of who we really are." -Dr. Darren R. Weissman, author of The Power of Infinite Love & Gratitude
For centuries humankind has been asking fervent questions about the meaning of life. As Howard Falco learned, the answers to these questions can ultimately be found in the answer to just one: "Who am I?" In late 2002, in the middle of an ordinary life, Falco-a thirty- five-year-old investment manager with a wife and two children-sought the answer to this powerful question and remarkably this quest resulted in a sudden and all-encompassing shift in his awareness that revealed more about life and how we each create it than he ever imagined knowing. Startled by this new understanding and its implications for his own life and the lives of all others, Falco set out to share his discoveries. The stunning result is this book.
I AM takes readers on a life-changing journey in which they will discover the incredible power they have over their experience of life, finding that the doorway to eternal peace, happiness, and fulfillment lies in one of the shortest sentences in the written word but the most powerful in the universe: I AM.
Howard Falco is the author of the new book on human understanding and potential titled, I AM: The Power of Discovering Who You Really Are (Penguin Group Sep. 2010). He is a spiritual teacher and speaker specializing in the power of the mind as it relates to the creation of the experience of life and breaking through any perceived personal limitations.
On the surface Howard seems to be the everyday regular guy. However, after asking some of the "big" questions in life, in 2002 at age 35, in the middle of ordinary life, this married father of two went through dramatic shift in consciousness that revealed the answers to these questions and more about life than he ever imagined knowing. The dramatic depth and breadth of this shift in consciousness unveiled the answers to many of the largest and deepest questions that humanity seeks answers for on a regular basis, such as "Who am I?" "Why am I here?" and "Why do I suffer?"
These realizations immediately revealed the core essence underlying all human creation, action, reaction, joys and suffering. Stunned, inspired and freed by this powerful knowledge, Howard set out to honor what happened by sharing what he learned. He new book "I AM" is the incredible result of this effort.
With a groundbreaking insight into the connection of energy and personal creation, "I AM" explains the very essence of the way we each shape our lives by the way we perceive and react to our world. This awareness helps empower the reader to more of a conscious level of deliberate creation as they learn how much power they have to create the experience of life they desire most.
Howard works with individuals looking for more peace and fulfillment in any area of life such as career, relationships, sports performance or personal issues. His insight helps them to harness more of the creative power of their mind in the effort to accomplish any desire state of mind, goal or dream they have for themselves. I read "I Am" when it was just released. I enjoyed the book, it helped me in my career, and my new life in a different state. I made several quote cards that were relevant to me at the time, and manifested positive energy and outcomes. Now, three promotions later, happy marriage, and great life, i was diagnosed with three terrible diseases and found myself lost, spiritually, and lost my sense of who I am. I find myself having to redefine some aspects of myself and this book has made its way into my life again. My second time reading it, and looking forward to finding "Me" again. Give it try, may take more than once. Open your mind and try!
This book is the worst book I have picked up in a long time. Someone in book club chose it, the entire point is believe and think good things and your life will be great. What about children in poverty, they deserve what they got? What about systemic racism that has disadvantaged people of color for hundreds of years? What about people who have had horrible accidents that bring them medical and/or financial ruin? They didn’t think enough good thoughts?
This book is SO GOOD! Easily one of the few books I would make mandatory for every student in school to read.
This book does such a great job at helping you understand the nature of reality. It's the kind of book that's so thorough and succinct that it completely wipes away the need to read countless of other (less comprehensive) books.
This book is like "The Fundamentals of Life" and it could have just as easily been called that.
I've never highlighted a book so much in my life (and I pretty much never highlight books at all to begin with, done digitally in my case) This is one of those VERY rare books that I would actually give 10 stars out of 5.
It feels like it's been so long since I've read a book that's been life-changing for me. And of course, the likelihood of finding one diminishes the more books you read. But I'm so glad to have found this one, and for it to have had such a big impact on me. There are only three other books that I would say have had a monumental impact on my life. So I'm really glad that this book could be included in that category.
Clear & Concise:
This book is so incredibly grounded, and practical. Unlike so many other books that vaguely tell you to "just believe", clap three times, spin around in a circle with a scarf around your waist, stare up into the sky, and then go about your day with only thoughts of dandelions on your mind.
I Amactually explains all of the concepts and ideas mentioned clearly and in a way that anybody can understand (you don't even have to be all that spiritual to get it). This is not some head in the clouds "just think positively (because I said so) and your life will be an absolute dream fairy tale" kind of book.
It's a straightforward explanation of how the universe works and how you and ONLY YOU control your experience of it.
He doesn't just make a bold statement and leave it at that (like so many others do). He makes a point and then immediately goes on to explain how things work from a realistic, worldly, and energetic point of view. He clearly shows you how the concepts he talks about play out in your day to day life. So you're never left guessing what anything means, trying to see if it ties into your life or feeling like something was overly vague and non-descriptive.
Objective Tone:
Another great aspect of this book is that it's written so objectively. The author isn't telling you how you should live your life or coming through with an overly positive nor judgmental tone. He is simply stating the facts of how your thoughts, emotion and energy emanate through the world and take part in creating your reality. He is simply presenting the information and then allowing the reader to do whatever they choose with their newfound awareness.
Understanding the Ego:
This is also one of the best books you'll read on understanding how your ego is 100% unequivocally your friend in helping you achieve whatever it is you believe about yourself to be true.
In other words, this book gives you a very accurate representation of the ego's role in your life. And how it is constantly helping you achieve what it is you desire. Just like you would imagine an angel always being there for you in support, your ego is no different. Endlessly helpful and supportive in carrying out and validating your beliefs about your world.
It cohesively strings together soooo many of the little concepts, ideas, positive sayings and quotes you hear thrown around all the time (in life, on social media, from TV shows and movies, books, from motivational speakers etc.) and it does it in a very succinct, well-rounded and easy to understand way.
Another thing that is so great about this book is that it's easy to understand without being elementary or feeling like you're being talked down to with the most basic information imaginable (even for someone who has read upwards of hundreds self-help and spiritual books). I Am does a phenomenal job of providing you a thorough and unique perspective of how we operate in the world.
The Audiobook is a MUST:
I would highly recommend anyone reading this pick up the audiobook along with the physical copy so you can really follow along and hear the ideas expressed exactly how the author intended it. You'd be doing a disservice to yourself to not at least listen to the audiobook (if you didn't want to also pick up a physical copy).
He does a great job of emphasizing each and every one of the important statements in a way that perfectly encapsulates the importance of the topics, and really helps the ideas and concepts to sink in. With a book like this that covers life's most important topics, you wouldn't want to experience it any other way.
Listening to the audiobook is like hearing your favorite artist sing their most beloved songs exactly how they intended, versus listening to a complete amateur (i.e you only reading the text off the page) do a cover of it.
It's always great when the authors are the ones narrating their own work. So again, I definitely recommend hearing the author convey his ideas in his own voice since the tone and inflection he speaks with helps amplify and convey his message in the most accurate and impactful manner.
Narration Quality:
There were a quite a few lines that were rearranged/added/omitted/rephrased between the physical copy and the audio book. So the narration didn't match up exactly with the physical copy I had.
Along with that, the only (and biggest) gripe I have is that there were several times when the author would add (or redo) some lines in the audiobook. And his tone, mic volume, sound quality, room ambiance and energy levels would be completely different from how he was initially reading the passage. It takes you out of the experience (a bit) and it's a little jarring if you're really dialed in to everything he's saying.
This annoyance was amplified by the fact that the book is filled with incredibly unique and valuable content. So it just would have been nice if the quality of the audio recording matched the sublime content present in the book.
The replayability of this audiobook takes a hit when I think about having to listen to several of those slightly distracting re-recordings over again. But ultimately it is what it is, I just wanted to point that out to everybody as it was fairly common and a very noticeable element of the narration.
In Summary:
All in all, the fact that I would highly recommend listening to both the audio(book) while reading along to a physical copy speaks volumes to how valuable the intentionally well crafted narration is to truly getting the most out of this book.
For me, the best part is that the author read it with the proper emotion, tone and emphasis on so many of the important ideas that he conveyed throughout the book.
It blows my mind how this book isn't more popular and widely talked about. The amount of lines and passages I found myself continuously highlighting is just absurd. (And again) It's not even something I often do in books in the first place.
It's such a shame how so many of the greatest pieces of content that have the capacity to change so many people's lives are so often slept on for years, if not decades, before they ever received the recognition they deserve.
This is easily one of the best books I have ever read. It's a true gem 🥇 and I'm so glad I discovered it ✨
I would have to rank this up there with some of the best self help titles out there. He writes in a clear, easy to understand voice and he talks sense. I liked this book a lot.
I have just reread this book. It is still my go to book for self help and getting things done. There must be something about November, because the first time I read this was November 2012. I highly recommend this to anyone that is stuck and feels at the end of their rope. This book offers hope and a plan of action.
This book is helping me to re-shape my thought processes in way that is opening my life up to so many more possibilities and ia also helping me to be at peace internally. So far, so great.
This book will transform my life. It took me a long time to slog through it, but I’m so glad that I did. Along the way were many transformative nuggets that set my belief system and life on their heads. The irony is not lost that this was the exact book I needed at exactly the right time I needed it (a central theme to this book). I approach this book as a Christian (liberal, Protestant if it matters). Not to give too much credit, or confuse a reader, but I heard God’s voice speaking clearly through Falco’s message. This expressed and convinced me of what God has been trying to tell me forever (again, a central theme in the book). I am a better person, and a stronger Christian for having read this book. I am going to read it again.
It has taken me a very long time to finish reading this book and it is not because of any shortcomings in the text. It was a painful journey and at times, I literally was not able to pick the book up to continue with its lessons. Ultimately, I got a lot out of it even though many of the principles I am very familiar with. It is written in such a way that made the reading an active experience instead of a passive one that has happens frequently in the past for me. We have to confront and accept that all our thoughts are shaping our present and future, the limitations and the fear of our past thoughts have created neural pathways that restrict what we feel capable of achieving today. I have struggled to accept a large part of my life because I didn’t choose it. I was put into a situation where I didn’t have the skills or temperament needed to carry out a family role. All this occurred despite me being an avid reader of spiritual literature for many years. It seems that even if I absorb the learning, it doesn’t stay with me long term. I feel different about the teachings of this precious book and I intend to keep it in my bedside table for top ups of its wisdom, as needed. I only recommend this book for someone who is really committed to their spiritual path, as the journey can be challenging. It is totally worthwhile in these circumstances.
This is the first book I read when I started my healing/awakening journey in the spring of 2013. I was 22 years old at the time and had just made a spiritual break-through in my personal life. I tend to gravitate towards books that I "need" in that moment and this book was certainly the one for me during that particular phase. I was provided with the understanding and clarity I had been seeking about what was happening to me, why it was happening, who I had been, and who I was becoming.
It satisfies the scientific mind with a healthy and necessary dose of psychology and spirituality. Falco has a way of explaining his thoughts and revelations directly and sensitively. He powerfully draws his connections to convey his messages in a way that is easily understandable for all and he has certainly provided peace over his readers.
Since then, I have recommended this read to humans all-over with different cultural/religious backgrounds and ages - no matter stage in life they might be, and whatever the source of their internal struggle is coming from. Whether it be emotional, financial, or spiritual - there is no wrong time to pick up this book and expand your self-awareness.
I've just finished reading it again as a 29 year old, and the effect is just the same! This is just one of those books you can evolve with time after time.
I really enjoyed this book, in part because it expanded upon and strengthened some beliefs I'd already begun to form because of my personal faith. The idea that we can create our reality through attitudes and beliefs is not new, but the way Falco presents it is approachable and not victim-blaming. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on making peace with the past and accepting that the decisions I made were the best I could make, and that the only thing I can control is making better choices now with the knowledge I currently possess. There isn't much in the way of direct action type self-help here, just a couple of exercises at the end and some questions to ponder in a journal as you read.
Howard Falco crafts a simple but captivating story and blueprint to unlock accurate self-awareness. This book has the potential to transform the way you view life with a positive shift in creative abilities and awareness. The author is a decent storyteller, but the book's message is engaging and reflects Falco's mission. I recommend this book to everyone.
Would like to skim read again as read early in my journey to study mindfulness and personal growth. When review notes in book, almost seem simplistic when re-reading or is it that I have grown? Need to spend more time with book to asssess
This is a really great read and is full of insights into how we create our reality and how we can reshape it every day by choosing who we want to be in that moment. A must read book for those on the journey of personal development.
The first part of the book was really boring, and I was thinking this is crap, but the second part was better. It motivates you to be the creator of your life. But in all there are better books than thos one.
Overall the book has some great takeaways. It got monotonous at times, but this may have been purposeful to create a strong connection with what the author was trying to infuse into the reader.
