This book is about two teenage girls named Sunshine and Rain who met one another in the foster care system as a result of family hardships. The beginning of the book was very interesting and I wanted to know more about the characters which is why I kept reading on. But then in the middle of the story it became uninteresting and pointless. I did not like the foster mother Cathy because she didn't seem real for the author tried too hard to depict her as a "down ass chic from around the way" who dropped a lot of N-words which made me cringe every time Cathy would say the derogatory term. I laughed a little when it was mentioned that Cathy had a brother named Moses and an uncle named Snoop - lol really? I thought the sex scenes with men and teen girls was crass and meaningless; it was too much for me and made it hard for me to get through those parts in the story; but because I wanted to know what happens to Sunshine and Rain I kept on reading to the end. Eventually the story of Sunshine and Rain became exciting with a few surprises towards the end. I recommend this book to readers who is bored like I was when I decided on this particular book to read.

I really enjoyed this audio book. I decided to try this book because the narrator is iiKane. A lot of the books that I tend to listen to are narrated by her.
This book takes you through the life of some young ladies who were put into the foster care system due to some unforeseen circumstances.
Sunshine was put into a good home right away and Rain ended up coming to the same foster home as Rain after a tragedy at the foster home that she was originally put in .
They started out a little shaky but became real close. They were like the sisters they always wanted.

I enjoyed this read a lot. I was entertained and it was not a predictable plot. I also found myself really enjoying the characters and sort of sad when some of them didn't make it to the end. Thumbs up. I would read more about this girls if it was a series.

My favorite book growing up, I remember reading this as a teenager and was hooked. It was so real and raw. Great coming of age story for young girls to dive into and fall in love with. Enjoy!

this was the worst book ever. And i'm very sure that Dawn Desiree has never even seen child services or what they do by a long shot. All she did in this book was write about the stuff that 15 year-olds should NOT be doing. I believe that this book was completely inaccurate from beginning to end. The sex scenes that she put in this book were explicit, uneeded, gross, crass, and other words that aren't even coming to mind right now.Save the book writing for someone who has the talent to do it.

. Excellent book for the Young ladies. I borrowed this book from the library for my daughter and I to have a book discussion. Right on point with everything that is going on around us now. I liked that the author created three strong women, and yet they all had flaws. I can't wait to read the sequel. Thanks Dawn Desiree.
