A book that goes into the basic nutrition of fruits and vegetables, while providing clear information about the differences between juicing, and smoothies, along with an overview of how to choose the best equipment.
Before the recipes for juices, and smoothies, there are many points offered for what nutrients are needed for which stage of life, dietary, or other specific needs.
The most valuable portion to me was the extensive daily plans offered for various forms of detoxifying, and health-forming regimes. That is worth the price of the book alone.

My thoughts about the book: The book Juicing & Smoothies FOR Dummies is to juicing for good physical and emotional health what the Bible is to a person’s spiritual health and for experiencing an “abundant” and completely satisfying life through faith in God. The book is jam packed; I mean it is LOADED with an assortment of healthy, vitamin, mineral and otherwise nutrient rich delicious fruit and vegetable juice recipes as well as dairy and frozen smoothie recipes. Also included in the book is information concerning juicing to cleanse and detoxify our bodies from all the poisons and contaminants that we as consumers consume throughout our lives from the water we drink and the food we eat. It is not only good to be clean on the outside but it is vitally essential to good health to be “clean” on the inside and the book offers you some invaluable and helpful tips as to how to do just that – (and that pertains to both physically and spiritually I might add though this book does not address any of the spiritual issues concerning being spiritually “clean” on the inside).

Juicing & Smoothies FOR Dummies totally lives up to its name in that it provides the reader with just about everything that’s needed to be known concerning how to prepare and enjoy a delicious juice beverage or smoothie. And what’s more the book not only provides the recipes for the drinks but also information about why the recipes in the book are healthy for you – it explains what is referred to as “the nutrition and science in a glass.” So what you have are not just some author’s opinions about what makes a juice beverage or smoothie healthy, although author Pat Crocker’s opinions are most certainly of great benefit and valid, but she also provides the scientific research and reasons why the recipes are good for you.

Some of the fruit drink and smoothie recipes included in the book are: “Banana Breakfast,” “Get Up and Go,” ”Sesame Says Me,” “Vegetable Soup,” “Citrus and Mango Tango,” “Vita-E,” “Cherry Cheesecake,” “Tummy Tamer,” “Ginger Citrus Mixer,” “No-Jito,” “Exercise Elixir,” “Anti-Aging Elixir,” “Dynamite Dandelion” and many, many more recipes for health improving drinks.

If you are concerned about “increasing your energy level,” “living longer,” “revving up your sexy vitality,” “boosting your immune system, “improving your memory” or just experiencing a better quality of health and life overall then Juicing & Smoothies FOR Dummies will most definitely help you get on the right path to overall health and wellness. I give this book 5*****!

I love to juice vegetables three times a day in addition to my meals. This is a great book.
