The story is just awful! But I read this to improve my French comprehension and I think it did. The author uses particular words and phrases far more often than I'd expect them to occur, probably to reinforce the vocabulary. For my level (early intermediate?), the grammar and sentence structure was about right. So 1 star for atrociously bad story, 4 for pretty good learning experience and since that's what matters, an overall 3.
