Circumcision: The Painful Dilemma

Rate this book
The definitive book on circumcision, meriting the subtitle "Everything you wanted to know about circumcision and were afraid to ask." - This 2nd edition of Rosemary Romberg's standard work from 1985 about genital mutilation on minors has been very much revised and supplemented with current information. The Painful Dilemma will stand as a moving social document of our times. A thoroughly researched and balanced critique of current medical research, myths, and realities, it will touch the hearts and open the minds of parents, and empower them to make the right decision about circumcision for their intact sons. Everyone who intends to have a child, and all of their relatives, caregivers and educators, should read this book.

I appreciate this book so much that I worked with Rosemary (before her passing 1/2020) and a team of others to complete a 2nd edition (out now).

I am a cut dad of 2 intact teen sons. My wife was not provided any information with our first son. Luckily we were provided some from someone else that led us down a deep and dark rabbit hole.

I have a shelf and a half of books on the topic of genital cutting rituals. While I have not read all of them, this book appears to be the most thoroughly researched and complete book on the topic.

Even aside from the "circumcision" thing, I recommend the book to learn many other things (i.e. history, parenting, etc.).
