I have read 5 books by Dan Decker and have enjoyed each one tremendously! They are so exciting and are very hard to stop reading. Another thing I truly appreciate is the language! It is so wonderful not having f bombs every other word. Such a pleasure to be entertained by these great stories. Thanks to Dan for writing books that are fantastic and thrilling!
Not sure this is really a 3 but a 2.5. I rounded it up just for the the sheer number of pages written- over 600- it could have been much shorter & more concise! Somehow, the author seems to love car chases but they go on forever, circling towns on obscure roads.
Jason heads to his hometown to see how his parents are as he hasn't heard from them in years. He finds the farm burned to the ground and no one seems to know what happened. Enter his high school girlfriend and her criminal ex and get the car chases trying to elude his goons. Also find an old high school not really a friend Marv who hires Jason to find out who is trying to kill him.
Then add, now cop Harper and FBI Agent Niel from the first book and we have another storyline which includes an old undercover job Jason did for the FBI prior to prison that seems to interest the CIA.
So instead of getting Jason closure for being unjustly imprisoned, we are left hanging with the hope it will happen in the next book.
This is one more of my favorite authors writing a book for dollars...This book was just a bunch of filler no substance at all. I'm so disgusted I could cry after all this time looking forward to the next great thriller I get filler instead. Almost all have gone this way or are suddenly gone towards almost devil worship!!! I would rather wait ten years than get this drivel
One has to suspend a certain level of credulity to imagine a fugitive being in regular contact with law enforcement, including a US Marshall, without being arrested. Nonetheless there's at least a smidgen of character development for a couple of characters and the fast pace keeps one entertained.
Action packed and,I read all three in this series. I have become a fan of Dan Decker. I hope he writes more books in the Jason Maxwell series. There needs to be a conclusion to this mans unfair torment.
Held my interest all through the book. I have enjoyed all the books in this series. Great author. Enjoyed reading books without use of foul language, which never adds anything to the story.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this series with non stop action and I'm convinced that Jason has more lives than a cat. One thing I didn't understand at the end was why Jason didn't tell the police about the weapons.
