Charlie Miller and Reagan Cooper have been through a lot in the three years since they started dating. What started as a fake dating scheme between Reagan and Charlie’s brother, Jamie, turned into an everlasting love affair between Charlie and Reagan instead.
Now the two are engaged and finally ready to plan their dream wedding. The countdown is on - one year until their big day… finally. With how the rest of their relationship has gone, this day should definitely go off without a hitch… right?
Erica Lee finished writing her first book, Dear Santa: I’m Gay, in December 2016. Erica currently lives in Pennsylvania with her wife, dog, chinchilla, and bunny. She spends her days working as an optometrist and her nights snuggled up on the couch with her furry family, binging on netflix or youtube.
Librarian note: There is more than one author in the Goodreads database with this name.
I have been waiting for this story since Reagan and Charlie’s introduction in book one. Just like in the first book, the chemistry between them is off the charts and the banter was spot on. And then Nana, what an incredibly adorable woman. I'm so glad she's still here and that she takes every opportunity to stir things up. Nana made me laugh out loud. Now I’m so ready for the next Miller-Cooper story. Fingers crossed we don't have to wait too long.
More social commentary in this series entry than before. As Charlie plans her and Reagan's wedding, there is heartbreak amongst the joy with her homophobic mom resisting their relationship.
But there is still a lot of fun and feels here (and some spice!) as the girls plan and get close to their dream wedding.
A worthy end (if it is such) to the a great series :)
Enjoyable, short read. It was nice catching up with these characters and seeing them get married and all. This book hit on some touchy subjects but it was handled well.
I have no words for how much I love the Miller-Cooper clan. And this book…THIS BOOK just…I’m so happy right now. Like the characters mention throughout the book, we have followed them on a rollercoaster ride of a relationship and I’m happy to report this book continues that tradition. But it’s done in such an amazing way you just keep turning the pages. And wow! The different characters popping in from other books! Loved it. And I couldn’t sign off without mentioning Nana. She is the character you just wish was in your own life. I don’t think these books would be the same without her. And to all those people who follow Erica on twitter…how could you not have voted this character to win the poll!! I stand by what I said, best character ever! Now we just need another book following the pregnancy and early years…hopefully with lots of nana involved. I understand she’s an older character but the author already killed Willow! She can’t do the same to nana!!
I first met Reagan Cooper when she was playing a fake girlfriend who falls for her best friend's sister, Charlie Miller, in Anyone But Her ( Aug 2019). Their story continued with A Very Miller Christmas (novella, Nov 2019) where the pair end up engaged. This short novel is the countdown to the wedding. Going monthly it has them dealing with family while meeting vendors, being with friends, adopting a dog, bachelorette parties and more. A huge and ongoing part of their story is Charlie’s mother’s inability to approve of the upcoming nuptials. And of course there is delightful Nana who gets to be blunt and toss in some fun lines and insults. The pair can come off as immature at times but at the core this is a fun love story and I’m happy to get to spend more time with them. Obviously the books should be read in order. This is low angst, at least for the pair, and passion filled. I love the world that Erica Lee creates that allows characters from her other books to pop into the story. It is a fun treat for her readers and will go unnoticed if you aren’t familiar with her other books. I’m hoping there is a future book based on the reveal in the epilogue.
A Very Miller-Cooper Wedding is a wonderful update on Charlie and Reagan’s life. The story arc consists of a series of vignettes following the couple as they go through a year of planning for their wedding. Anyone who has gone through this will appreciate the recounting of a seemingly endless list of things to accomplish in what seems like both too much and too little time simultaneously. The terrific secondary cast from earlier books is always on hand. Charlie’s Nana remains a force of nature. There is some continuing angst and there are a few plot threads not fully explored. These issues aside, this is a fun tale, complete with a cute surprise at the end.
Book 3 had everything we needed to make us happy. Erica Lee’s storytelling and breakdown of chapters continued to keep us engaged. The continuation of Charlie and Reagan’s story “The Wedding” brought to light again the need to prove to the world that this love is not a bad love. As she does in her personal life, Erica has written about the prejudices against same sex love in this story within Charlie’s own family. Done in such a manner that gave pride to Charlie and Reagan and reminders to the readers this does still exist. I loved this book and I think we need more about the future kiddies. I love Erica Lee and I believe she can change the world!💕
This is a delightful continuation of the romance which started between Charlie and Reagan in the first book of this series, Anyone But Her. This deals with the trials and tribulations the couple go through as they plan their wedding. Whilst Charlie’s grandmother is a very accepting hoot, her parents, and particularly her mother, continue their homophobic ways. I get that Charlie is continually hurt by her mother’s actions but it’s hard to see how they’ll ever get to a point where her mother’s sins are forgiven and forgotten. Personally, I think Charlie should just cut her off and be done with it!
From the beginning in “Anyone But Her” to “A Very Miller Christmas “ and now “A Very Miller-Cooper Wedding, the story of Reagan and Charlie’s love is intense, funny and well worth reading. The supporting characters add to the intensity, with humor and intrigue. I wanted to shake some sense into Charlie’s mother on several occasions. I believe you will too.
I have most definitely come to appreciate Ms Lee’s writing style. There is just something uplifting as you read. Even during angst. Characters from other books get seen again and again which is wonderful except that now I want to read them all which is a total hardship I know 😂. I only got a glimpse of these characters in the pride story The Perfect Fit but was compelled to read more of their story. Now there’s so many more characters I just need to read about!
The beginning was just run-of-the-mill, but it picked up speed and turned out surprisingly well thought out. I didn’t realize this book was in a series and I don’t think I read the one before this. Doesn’t really matter though, even when I thoroughly enjoy a book, I instantly forget about it. Thus my need to read between 250 and 300 books annually. Good thing I’m retired.
Nice to see Charlie, Regan and the rest of the cast again, and more of their lives as well. Given who they are and what Charlie's parents are like, certain things are to be expected, and just like the previous books, they do indeed happen. Nana is, of course, great as always, and there is even some growth of some characters during the course of the book.
It is a very enjoyable story, with plenty of hilarious moments, and a great addition to the series.
Oh my goodness this book was hilarious 😂 I had so many laugh-out-loud moments... I even had tears running down my face!!
I enjoyed reading the character development in Mr. Miller... and in the end Mrs. Miller does seem to try her best. There is a lot of homophobia (warning!) which is horrible and I hated reading just how much it hurt the main characters.
Overall, the book was fantastic and well written. I laughed, teared up at sad parts, was giddy, and smiled nearly the entire book!!!!
This was a very sweet (with a little spice) update to Charlie and Reagan's story. So much fun to see beyond the typical epilogue. Nana is way too funny. I can't wait to see how that twist at the end works out for them.
A worthy sequel to the Miller Christmas, but not quite as funny, but then any book that has Nana in it is - in principle - hilarious. The emotional development was too spread out for my liking, but that may be, because I cannot for the life of me understand that marriage madness of the Americans.
Loved this book and the character development of some characters from the previous two books. One character in particular always made me laugh as she voiced her support in numerous ways. I hope we get a 4th book, pretty please!!!?!
“thank god for fake boyfriends with hot sisters”!!! UGH i just LOVEEEE these books!!!! charlie is me and my mom is charlie’s mom and i just haven’t related to anything more than these books. this is my new fav series for sureee. charlie and reagan miller-cooper ily both
Okay, I absolutely loved everything about this book. Every chapter was a month leading up to the wedding and the struggles that both women were facing. It was so heart felt and romantic and I fell in love with Reagan and Charlie even more.
La verdad esperaba un poco más, fue muy muy largo para lo que en realidad contó, aunque por el final, creo que vendrán otra historia más, y la verdad que promete porque... Bueno mejor leerlo.
Each book with these two gets funnier and funnier. What a couple of hilarious hot messes. I really want a 4th book sometime of their experience with parenthood!
A cute book. Out of the three, I liked the first the best, but liked the evolution of their relationship in this one. It felt silly at times and a little cheesy, but still cute overall.
