Both the Pumptitude lessons and the life chest concept became jumping off points for the Life Chest Adventure books, in which Kim appears as the great-great-grandfather of the main characters of Series One, cousins Josh and Bernie.
To create the most colorful, exciting, and accurate depictions of the locations in the novels, Kim and his team travel to each one. Experiencing the sights, sounds, scents and flavors of a place instills the stories, the descriptions, and even the dialogue with a special spark. Kim calls it the secret sauce.
