A mostly interesting read. Well researched and well organized. I wish it went a little more in depth in the biographies of famous pirates, and that the section on pirates in pop culture was more detailed.

Though a little book, it's packed full of information concerning pirates!

It highlights the main pirates, in the Golden Age of Piracy, and gives a good account of general life of the times. While trying to dispel pirate myths that have crept in to our society from the books, movies, and plays, which have been written over the decades.

I'm house sitting for a marine archeology major from Florida. Not too surprisingly, this was in her bookcase. Interesting read. I didn't realize how fine a line there was between a pirate and a privateer.
