so detailed, which would be a good resource for many readers, but entangling for the general reader, but fascinating information about how dangerous sea faring truly has been, and can still be.
This book told the stories of many ships which had either run aground on the Columbia River bar or gone down at sea just off the bar. It was a little tedious as quite a few of the stories were similar; basically they had gotten into trouble when pushed off course by winds or the navigator had erred in reading his charts. There were just enough tales with interesting twists to keep me reading to the end.
