Cool book with great illustrations explaining the correct form for all the major lifts. I would recommend it for beginner and novice lifters that wanna get started in the gym, from my coaching experience it's very difficult to unlearn bad movement patterns. I've read somewhere that it takes 10000 repetitions of an exercise to properly learn an action and fix the pattern so make sure you get started on the correct technique!
Proper lifting technique is essential in building muscle and avoiding injury. Now that I'm middle-aged (that's painful to say), avoiding injury is very important to me. The author explains how to properly perform numerous weight-lifting exercises. In addition to the written explanations, there are lots of B&W photos demonstrating proper lifting techniques.
Great for beginner lifters, the book emphasizes proper technique and form. Don’t jerk the weight, use smooth, controlled movements. The book covers the most popular exercises, and is not exhaustive.
The book offers a wide variety of advice on keeping safe.
I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
OMG! Bring tissues with you. At first I was so frustrated with this book but gosh I couldn’t put it down then the heart break started. So so amazing. Great job Colleen.
