This is one of my favorite books about a subject that most people don't know or care about.
"Out of sight - out of mind".
Friedman has some unique and refreshing solutions to a lot of the problems of bridges, tunnels, harbors, bulkheads, underground airports and the all too visible decay of cities, etc.
