The old Dixie Mafia boss is back in charge.

And he's bringing back the old ways.

But the DA's investigator is Aintry County to the bone. His roots grow deep in the Dixie clay. And he's brought his own toolbox.

If you love stories of deep-fried justice from the Deep South, then jump in the '67 Camaro and ride along with Barnett Lowery as he cleans up corruption in his hometown. But you'd better strap on your seatbelt, because this Camaro runs fast, and this time Lowery is going up against the Devil in Dixie .

The Devil in Dixie is #3 in the Barnett Lowery Deep-Fried Southern Justice series, or Dixie potboilers, for short. I have always been partial to southern noir, but nobody does it better than Robert Peecher. I highly recommend this Aintry County, Georgia police procedural series, peopled with really bad guys, and good folks you know and understand - mostly. I'm old, so I knew quite a few of the good ones in my younger days... Maybe one or two of those others. I so enjoy a book that lets me know and appreciate that I am truly on the side of the angels in this life. Mostly. And that angels can occasionally be redundant and bitchy and still shine. Thank you, Robert Peecher.

I thought I knew the identity of the devil supreme in his Dixie. I had no idea it was a highly contagious virus. The virus has spread widely, but common sense seems to be in scant supply. This is another one that will keep you reading WAY into the night. I simply couldn't put it down. Peecher doesn't leave us with a cliff hanger, but with the necessity to begin the next one, toot-sweet. Thankfully, I already own it. So on to 'Ain't No Senator's Son'. When I finish potboilers, I want to start on the westerns... Keep them coming, Peecher!

What a terrific trilogy this is! Barnett Lowery is back in Aintry county where he is an investigator for the prosectutor's office. Hired to clean out the Dixie mafia, just like his father had been. The corruption goes all the way to the top, starting with the sheriff's office. If you read the 1st two, you already know. Lots of action throughout. The Devil In Dixie is a book you won't want to put down. Couldn't wait to see what was on the next page.

Good book...but

Excellent story. Love the Barnett Lowery character. Great dynamic between him and the love interest. Fast paced story kept me interested.

But,

The author needs a good editor that can proofread. I've never read a book with so many typos and just wrong words being used. Some made the sentences confusing to read. I would definitely read more from this author because the story is really good.

Triple Header

Usually when I read a series I like one book out the set…not here they were all entertaining. The characters were memorable and strong. The tales moved a long and kept me guessing, usually I can guess the next move, not this time, my guess was wrong a lot. Thanks, Robert Peecher, for a nice week of reading.

Great story!

Really enjoyed reading this one. Mostly believable plots and quirky characters. BUT! The typos are atrocious, ANF so plentiful that they are a huge distraction. Come on!! Hire a proof reader!

Too Many Errors

You really need to have someone proofread and edit your books. The character names get mixed up, there are extra words in sentences and simple errors like their, there and they're. Good stories but difficult to read because of all the errors!

great read

A real page burner. Good guys. Strong women. Corrupt police and lawyers. All set in small town Georgia. A nice trilogy. Give it a read

So this person is not a bad storyteller but the lack of editing out the mistakes, duplicate phrase and misspellings makes these books difficult to endure.

Good read

Really good book. So hard to put down. Just when you think the law won the criminals snatch back victory. Looking forward to the next in this series.
