What if it’s all true? What if the Bible truly is the words of God written down by the hands of men? What if Jesus was more than just a good teacher but actually the Son of God – what might that mean to you and me personally?
Jesus claimed, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life (John 8:12)." Is it possible that we may not yet fully appreciate all that Jesus offers us? Could we have been so focused on the busyness of life that we miss that which is of greatest importance?
In this short, accessible book, Rick Beckwith who has served with Young Life for more than 40 years, explores this question by investigating the Person and promises of Jesus.
He answers questions In a culture that views absolute truth as a fixture of the past, it is necessary to have a deeper explanation of the hope available to us in Jesus. If this explanation is indeed plausible and the Bible is true, then the implications for how we live are nothing short of profound!
An excellent resource for someone who is struggling with their faith in these troubling times. It explains the gospel simply and profoundly. It walks the reader through questions frequently asked when one is grappling with their relationship with God. It is very analytical, which I appreciated, using facts and thoughtful arguments to challenge the reader and ends each argument/chapter with What if it's true?
I received this as part of my Bible Study Insider box. It was a quick read, but with deep thoughts. While the focus seemed to be aimed at new believers, Beckwith's questions at the end of each chapter helped even seasoned believers consider their foundational beliefs. I'd highly recommend this to anyone new to Christianity or questioning their faith.
