Learning any language is no small task, not least one that sounds as unusual as Hebrew does to most English speakers’ ears. Going Deeper with Biblical Hebrew primarily aims to equip second-year grammar students of biblical Hebrew to read the Hebrew Scriptures. Using a variety of linguistic approaches, H. H. Hardy II and Matthew McAffee offer a comprehensive and up-to-date textbook for professors and students.
I can't believe Hardy made us read the entire book.
What can I say? If you commit to reading this in a semester's time you will learn a variety of macro and micro level insights about Hebrew grammar, philology, and syntax. The book is half written by a master philologist with an eye for intricate detail and yet who does not miss the big picture of the Bible or proper theological reading. Certainly a recommendable intermediate grammar that I look forward to referencing.
He's written much on prepositions so that section is golden of course. I love the glossary. It is necessary given he's using a lot of updated language. Going from Ross to this is like time travel (because it is). Glean from both.
