This volume was alright. I like the overarching story, a lot. I really want his to be good. It has so much potential in my opinion. I hope it gets better and stops re using the same plot device over and over again. It is starting to feel like some volumes are unnecessary...but maybe not? I really don't know just yet. I liked the chapter about Kagetora's mother. That was absolutely the best thing about this volume and saved it for me. I have a soft spot for boys who cry lol. Anyways, I still hope this series goes somewhere, I have high hopes for it.

Kagetora: Volume 4 is another good book in the Kagetora series that could have been great or even fantastic.

My one big issue with this series is the adaptation to English by Nunzio DeFilippis & Christina Weir. They also do the adaptation for the Guru Guru Pon-Chan series, and I have the same issue with those books also. Both series read a little awkwardly because of the dialog. I would think that they would want to make the text as American as possible. One one page, the word "okay" was used six times! Things like this really stand out and interrupt the pleasure of the reading for me.

Aside from the adaptation, the stories are fun and light. Poor Kagetora, he wants Yuki so bad. But he is stuck in the un-envious position of being Yuki's protector and cannot let his feelings be known. And it appears that Yuki may also like him. Oh, what are two love struck kids to do?

The artwork by Akira Segami is once again wonderful and the stories move along at a good pace. I highly enjoyed this book, only wishing that the dialog could have been better and not so awkward.

Overall, Kagetora: Volume 4 is a good addition to this series and I look forward to learning what Yuki's wish was in Kagetora: Volume 5. At least, I hope we get to find out then.

I rated this book a 7½ out of 10.

While there some funny and cute moments. There were also some annoying moments. Same with the other volumes. But the ending was nice.
