In the aftermath of a tragedy, two eighteen-year-olds, Seth and Jenna, join a volunteer emergency services squad in their community as a way of coping with grief and regret.
This book was really good. I'm surprised it only has 24 ratings.
Yes it's a sadder book. You have to have the heart to be able to read it. It's a tear jerker and I'm sure some people cried but I didn't.
I liked how the story was written in the format of Seth talking in "confession" as he calls it but that isn't what Gerry says and Jenna talking to a psychologist. It was an interesting format and I found it funny when Jenna got mad at the psychologist and yelled at her.
The plot you must be warned is sad. It's interesting... But it's about a teen who accidentally kills his gf in a car accident and now he has to live with it. It's a real problem. I found the plot realistic as well as the characters and I ended up loving this book.
All in all I don't understand why more people haven't read this. You totally should. It's really good.
Until the next sad book I read, don't drive in such bad weather... Seriously.
What started out as a 4 star book had a very lame ending. Therefore the 3 star rating. I guess you could say that the bulk of the book was 3 stars but the ending was only a 1 star only b/c how the book ended is a little unbelievable. However, I really liked the way the author wrote the story and the premise of the story. It was developed quite well and seemed to have a message. It was a very involving story and (teens in accidents, repurcussions of accidents when they involve a death). I think I was really disappointed in the ending and it has affected the entire book for me.
This book had an OK plot that wasn't concluded correctly. The ending left a lot of ends untied, and was a weak thought. It seemed as if the author just wanted to end the book and not talk about it anymore. The focus left the boy (who it seemed had the focus on and off from the beginning chapter all the way up into the last couple chapters) and only concluded the girl in a semi satisfying way. over all, it was just OK, with a lot of possible potential.
Boy feels so guilty for getting into a car accident that killed his girlfriend that he joins an EMT squad as a volunteer. Then the dead girlfriend's sister joins to make the boy feel even more guilty.
