Regis Francis Xavier Philbin was an Emmy Award-winning American television personality and occasional actor known for his roles as a talk show host, game show host, and presenter at various events. Appearing on television since the late 1950s, Philbin is often called (somewhat tongue-in-cheek and alternately attributed to James Brown), "the hardest working man in show business" and holds the Guinness World Record for the most time spent in front of a television camera. His trademarks include his excited manner, his New York Bronx accent, and irreverent ad-libs. He is most widely known for Live with Regis and Kelly, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and for hosting the first season of America's Got Talent.

Picked this up at a Little Free Library. Thought it was a biography. It partially is, but also gives highlights of his everyday life from 1994-1995. Since it was written over 20 years ago, it was an interesting trip down memory lane. However, some of the name dropping and shows he mentioned went over my head. Have to admit I Googled a lot while reading this.

I actually did watch Regis and Kathie Lee once in a while back then so I was familiar with the setup of the show. (Did not like being reminded of those Carnival cruise commercials.) Since I never knew what Regis did before their talk show, I was interested to learn about his early career. Odd how there was virtually no mention of his first wife during that time and very little about his older two children. Basically if you like Regis and were a fan of his show with Kathie Lee, you might enjoy this book.

I was and am a big Regis Philbin fan. He just seems like such a nice man. I have a signed copy of this book and had my picture taken with Reg the day he signed it. A treasure....at least to me.

I was 2 months and 15 days old when this Regis began writing this book. There’s too much Tr*mp in it. It’s a wild time capsule though but in the end wealth/celebrity is pretty much the same even today. I’m nervous this made me actually critical of Regis which I don’t wanna be. Would love to stay in blissful ignorance. I have another book of his we’ll see how that one goes.

I loved this quick easy read on one of my favorite tv hosts. Regis reminisced about his childhood and the beginnings of his career. And a very interesting career it was! This book is basically his diary for one year. He then brought up a memory regarding that days events. Charming, informative, and very very funny. Can you tell I loved Regis?

Reg is a hoot!! Even if he did have a helper to write this book, it sounds just like him. It was s fun read. And, I picked up poor Reg in a half off bin at a Goodwill sale. I think that’s funny too. I’m passing Reg off to a friend.

Typical Regis fare: if you like him, you'll love this book; if you don't, you won't. I found it humorous, but self-promoting in that Regis sort of way--funny, yet annoying at the same time! I happen to enjoy Regis (in small doses), so this book was a nice diversion for me.
