An historical "post-mortem" on the investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy that was conducted by New Orleans District Attorney, Jim Garrison in the 1960's.
A book that is referred to in so many other works on the JFK assassination, 'Let Justice Be Done' by William Davy was published back in 1999. Unfortunately, being out of print, it holds a crazy price to obtain a copy on Amazon. However, to the rescue comes a cheap download for the Kindle!
New light on the Jim Garrison investigation, as the sub-title proclaims, is quite a shining revelation. A very well written and explosive book, that redresses the attacks on the much maligned D.A. of New Orleans. Even the Foreword, by James DiEugenio is clear and concise. Thanks to the release of documents by the A.R.R.B., Bill Davy has produced a profound study of the innumerable hidden gems around the trial of Clay Shaw-Clem Bertrand. For all those readers who are on the trail of the assassins, this must be a most essential book. A third researcher, Robert Spiegelman provides the Afterword. The vast notes are worth the admission price alone.
"You represent humanity which yet may triumph over excessive Government power, if you will cause it to be so, in the course of doing your duty in this case. I suggest that you ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. What can you do for your country? You can cause Justice to happen, for the first time in this matter. You can help make our country better by showing that this is still a Government of the people; and if you do that, as long as you live nothing will ever be more important than that."
my favorite book on the JFK assassination. I wouldn't recommend it as a starter book on the subject - but it is required reading for those with some background knowledge on the subject. Unfotunately, it was released on small press and is now out of print. Because it was a small run most used copies run over $100. See if you can find it at a library
