I guess when you go into something with low expectations you can really get chocked... This book was SO GOOD.
I was really excited to learn about the 13th century because I felt like it's the century I know least about, but I definitely though the book would be a bit slow and dry. But it absolutely wasn't!! I found every single piece of information in this book so interesting, and I just wanted to soak up every sentence and remember every fact. Which sadly is completely impossible, but I think a lot of things have actually stuck since I found them so interesting to learn. And I actually really liked the writing style and the book shockingly enough even made me laugh at some points! This is by far my favourite out of all the historical books I've read these past few months.
A part of me now is like "Huh maybe I should go back to my old plans and study archaeology at uni instead of environmentalism...". So I guess that's quite a good rating for a book hahah.
Dick Harrison skriver fängslande men även ytterst upplysande. Boken är lättillgänglig för den intresserade amatören.
