Three Player Co-Op #2

Waiting For It

Anne
Crunch time.

Two words every game developer fears, and I’m living the horror of impossibly long work days, that bleed into weekends.

The only upside is spending a lot of that time with my sexy-as-sin boss. I probably shouldn’t get physical him, but the need for stress relief is real, and so is the size of his… desk.

Then word gets back to my best friend’s brother.

The guy whose house I practically grew up in. Who I thought saw me as a second sister. Talk about jealousy. Though I’m not sure if it’s toward me, or my boss. Apparently they hooked up a few times, too.

One thing leads to another leads to the three of us playing naked Twister without the mat. But they’ve been keeping a secret, and it’s one I don’t know if I can forgive them for.

I liked this book 2, the mc Anne was fun though vulnerable, the pop references were super fun, especially when used in the flirting. I liked the set up and how the menage developed, especially with the MM aspect, though Anne was always front and centre.

A lot of effort was put into the internal conflict with Anne pulling away from her boys for a decent reason, though it never really felt like she shut anything down and it was only a matter of time before she dealt with her issues and accepted them back.

The external conflict was also good, though I'm not a big fan of workplace romances I did enjoy that aspect but the antagonist was pretty obvious from their first appearance.

I also like how Sadie, the mc from the first book, and Lyn, the mc from the next one, all love and support Anne and each other.

This is a great story, with a well developed plot. All three protagonist have great chemistry, and the storyline is more focused on Ann's relationship to both Luke and Chase than the relationship between Luke and Chase. It is a read filled with drama, humorous dialog and steamy scenes.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

This hot menage was a little heavy on the tech talk and game lingo for me but was enjoyable nonetheless. It is told entirely from Anne's point of view, I prefer dual POV but this one worked ok as single. I look forward to reading the third book in the series!!

Welp, this one starts at a disadvantage with me because I tend to hate workplace romances - and quite frankly, combined with some very weak reasons for Anne to resist the nascent menage, it never really overcame that. Two stars because I do still really like the emphasis Lindt places on the deep bond between the friend group in the Three Player Co-op series.

Anne's job doing gaming-something-or-other has her working in close proximity with one of her crushes: her boss, Luke. Also: her other crush, Chase, happens to work at the same company as well (although at least in a different department). After one night when things get steamy between her and Luke, a company crisis forces the two of them and Chase to fly to corporate headquarters in Sacramento - which Chase uses as the opportunity to confess his feelings and put his own moves on Anne.

At first, Anne's all about this, including the sparky low-key competitiveness between the two guys. But then she discovers something that makes her pull back. And meanwhile, she's focused on trying to figure out who leaked her game's ending - but will Luke and the others at her company trust her digging into the issue when it seems a clear culprit is right in front of them? How can Anne navigate this moment with her heart and her job intact?

Lindt certainly does the pining and the initial hookup scenes well - Anne's with Luke and Anne's with Chase, to say nothing of the three's first time together - are memorable and hot. But once Anne discovers information to make her pull away, then she's all up in her head and the story is, quite frankly, not as fun. Especially since I happen to think the REASON she pulled away is quite stupid, and could easily have been resolved if she would have just TALKED to Chase and Luke.

As with the first book in this series, the relationship between Chase and Luke is underdeveloped. They have some hookup history, but it's only mentioned in dialogue - we don't really get to see much of how Chase and Luke relate to each other as individuals. (Just as, like, sexual beings, and competitors for Anne's affections.)

And I don't know: Lindt always uses workplace drama as a balance to her romances, but I did not enjoy the conflict here. First of all: sexual harassment!! I simply cannot read a boss/coworker romance without all my alarms going off here. To her credit, Lindt does bring it into the story line - an allegation is made, but it's easily dismissed. It's also tied to the moment when Anne is vindicated for her detective work on the game-leak mystery and so she walks away from encounter better off than she walked in! It stretched credibility for me.

Again, the best part is when Anne seeks advice from her friends, Sadie (star of the first book) and Lyn (coming up in the next book). The fact that Sadie and Lyn know and support Chase and Luke is a nice touch too - it's not simple girl-power solidarity, but navigating the sometimes complicated friend dynamics. This piece added something that's usually lacking in menage stories where it can be a little he-said, he-said, she-said, lol.

I am more interested in the setup for the third book, but after this one, I might take a little breather from this series.

Anne (Annie), Chase, and Luke.

Remember how Jax was a near-permanent fixture in Sadie and Chase’s house growing up? Well the same goes for Annie. Annie was never abused at home, but she was neglected. So more often than not, she stayed over their house and was practically a sister to Sadie.

On the other hand, Chase and Annie never thought of theirs as a near sibling bond. Chase flirted with Annie constantly. She thought that was simply his nature. And, yes, he flirted among their friend group for fun, but Annie was the only one who ever got flirting with intent.

Annie works in Development at the same video games company where Chase and Jax work in sales. Annie’s been working on a big deadline for a project drop, working super late in close quarters with her boss Luke. One night they are punch drunk from exhaustion and playfully flirting, when things turn sexual.

Two days later, they’re off on a business trip to visit a satellite branch of the company. Annie unexpectedly gets upgraded to business class, and finds herself sitting next to Chase. Having heard about Annie and Luke, Chase pleads his case and Annie & Chase join the mile high club. (Does it count if only she gets off?)

Turns out the local hotel lost their reservations, and there is not another room to be had. Luckily Chase is happy to share. Annie finds out that Chase and Luke had a one night stand, but Chase didn’t let it go further because he was still pining for Annie.

Annie is enjoying the hell out of two men competing for her attentions until Luke puts his foot in it, claiming they had a bit of a gentleman’s wager going with her as the prize.

Little bit of a different feel in Annie’s book. With both Sadie and Annie, one of their men is a childhood crush and the other someone they met as an adult. But while Sadie doesn’t want to come between Jax and Grayson (who are an established couple), Annie doesn’t want to be forced to choose between Chase and Luke.

I have a tendency to favor the childhood crush over the newbie, but Grayson charmed me from the beginning. Luke, less so.

Also, Annie’s workplace was a bit too similar to my previous workplace to be enjoyable. Hmmm. That might have been a big part of Luke holding less appeal for me personally.

Cute with some serious flaws.

Good
1) The characters were all amusing.
2) The tangle of confusion and lack of trust in yourself and others due to a gaslighting partner was depicted well.
3) The argument between hit all the right notes.
4) The situation and motive in the game development plot was interesting.

Bad
1) The male leads were not very fleshed-out.
2) The relationship-building was pretty much nonexistent.
3) The bet made no sense. .
4) The sudden transition from competing for her to wanting a threesome needed a conversation. I mean, they both made it clear that they were interested in a relationship with her but there was no on-page discussion about them wanting a relationship with each other. Were they just going to keep fucking each other for her pleasure? Ewwww!
5) The lead female calling the antagonist an
6) The smut was kinda humdrum.

It wasn't really good enough or at least entertaining enough for me to recommend.

ONE SPICY TRIPLE PLAY DELIGHT!!!
Batter up! Allyson just rang my bell, stealing my heart with this high octane thrilling whirlwind, laying out all the frills, spills and intense emotions, binding this hot little number together flawlessly. Lines blur and boundaries crossed, limitations are stretched and manipulated, kicking this baby into overdrive, slamming it into a frenzy with astonishing results, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they could have never imagined. Coiled, bound and tightly woven, showcasing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe-inspiring in it's depth, drawing our characters closer than they could have ever anticipated. Anarchy runs rampant and jealousy is rife, rousting the drama, intrigue, soaring suspense and intense situations, along with a double dose of treachery, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. The raw magnetism, undeniable attraction and sizzling chemistry collides with such intensity, drawing you deeper until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant through your veins. The characters, banter, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and vivid descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline explode. Fantastic job Allyson, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

This book does a much better job than the previous of fleshing out all three primary characters, and not just because we met Anne and Chase in the first book. Even Luke springs to life through Anne’s point of view, and this character development made me better appreciate the multiple relationship arcs for it.

In this case, what also helps is that the two men story are not already in a committed relationship with each other (though they do have a history). Half the fun of menage books is watching FOUR relationships develop (between each of the three characters and the group as a whole). Unfortunately, because of how Chase and Luke are both so focused on Anne, this book strikes me as more of a polyamory story that happens to include everyone at once rather than a true “menage” story. While I appreciate that this book’s drama doesn’t focus on Anne having to “choose” between either man, I feel like I’m missing out on how Chase and Luke grow closer together, which is only hinted at in the text.

Lindt continues to do an excellent job with the non-relationship conflicts included in the story. Even the tech jargon is accessible without being unnecessarily dumbed down, and I enjoyed solving the mystery along with Anne and Luke. Ultimately, this story includes multiple happy endings to be satisfied by.

This audiobook wasn't as good as the first in the series (Looking for It)
I think that's mostly due to the female narrators choice in tone for Anne's character. I really enjoyed her performance in book one as well as her portrayal of side characters. She sounds more real and genuine with them. However Anne's voice grated on my ears. She sounded whiny and too young. I am just not a huge fan of her higher pitched performance.
It took away my concentration for the story itself which wasn't great but it definitely wasn't horrible.
Anne was a bit to insecure for my tastes. Granted she had a horrible experience with her last relationship and it caused her to develop these insecurities and trust issues. But for such a short story I needed to feel like it wasn't CONSTANTLY talked about before she pulled herself together.
The office romance aspect of this was what you'd expect. Boss-employee forbidden romance.
Then you add in Anne's childhood best friend's brother and you get a little more intrigue with him also having a relationship with Anne's boss.
It almost reads as a love triangle at first but then you see it morph into the whychoose trope which I like more.
Overall it was a decent listen but I probably wouldn't just WANT to listen to it again. I would probably enjoy just reading it more.

Drama, and friendship, and lust, oh my!

Thank you, Allyson, for not believing in tired old stereotypes that geeks are ugly, antisocial, and celibate. This allows for this fun series about open minded, lusty intelligent gamers in a variety of spicy combinations. A guy and a girl? Two guys? Two girls? Any combination of those - referenced or spelled out -and more? Sure, bring it on.

There's also an actual plot, though quick, and mild character development tying everything together. For a short read, there's a lot going on, and it makes my geeky heart sing to read it.

An example of the writing, while I swoon at a Gomez Addams reference combined with Deadpool:

'I wanted his body fitted against mine again. “I just don’t want to lose the fun.” I could do this. Handle the flirting and be normal around him. I’d been psyching myself up to do that for more than a day now. It came more easily than I thought. “All I’m saying is, give me as much Ryan Reynolds as Gomez Adams.”'

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "WAITING FOR IT" Allyson Lindt dud a great job writing this story full of humor, drama, intrigue, secrets, hot steamy scenes, you can't put down until finished.
Luke is Anne's boss they've been doing alot of work together their chemistry sizzles he wants her and she him there's a chance meeting at a Hotel for work Chase who is her BF'S brother is at the same Hotel.
Chase and Anne grew up togther she always thought he thought of her like a sister but he's attracted to her when they accidently end up in the same Hotel room the sparks fly the chemistry between Anne, Chase & Luke is off the charts scorching hot.
I definitely recom0mnend to get this well written story the characters were great what will happen when Anne finds out the secret and someone who knows about them wants her job what will they do with the information could this ruin Anne and Lukes career it's a must have book you don't want to miss,

The only reason I ever touched the first book was because I thought the cover looked cool. Honestly, the entire series has wonderful covers I would be proud to put on my shelves. Having said that, I am glad I decided to pick up the books for this reason. This one was fun, silly, and genuine and (maybe) a little too real in some instances. This story in particular was giving Hazelwood but still the pull of a Lindt story. I enjoy her writing style with the first book and once again this time around. With the double forbidden fruit in the form of a best friend's brother and a boss made the appeal just a bit more. The development of the conflict not only internally but externally was well done and had enough real development to be tasteful. Not to mention the side plot of being a sleuth was amusing. Showed a real push for the reactions and actions of Anne. The threat of self doubt, situational doubt, and struggle of self confidence was very real.

Anne, Luke or Chase, or both.

Amme grew up with Chase as he is Anne's best friend's, Sadie's, brother. Anne practically grew.up in their household trying to stay away from her stepdad. She always had crush on Chase. Fast forward to her 20s, she works in gaming corporation. Luke is her boss. Chase also works with her but in different department. Amidst all the gaming troubles, gaming headquarter calls them in where they had to fly in to help take care of the situation and do damage control.

While they're there, they find that they have feelings for each other, yes Luke and Chase loves Anne and vice versa. Anne fights it but gives in once they work things out between them and the fire at the headquarter is doused. All ends well and this is a HEA. I give this story 4 cups of steaming Java, ☕☕☕☕.

This is a well written, entertaining office romance featuring Anne, a game programmer, Luke, her boss, and Chase, the brother of her childhood BFF. Despite her steamy, NSFW fantasies, Anne’s managed a professional and friendly work relationship with both men, knowing they are off limits. When the men’s seemingly harmless flirting suddenly holds a deeper significance, will Anne allow her personal demons to persuade her out of acting on those fantasies? The story is a quick read with likeable and well-defined characters. There’s plenty of drama, angst and super-hot chemistry, plus some dirty talk, along with seriously steamy encounters including some ménage, and a bit of M/M smooching. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Second book in the Three Player Co-Op series. This continues from book one with Sadie’s best friend Anne Fortier. Anne is a computer game designer who has a massive crush on her boss Luke Rider. When events leads to Anne fulfilling her teenage fantasy of dating Chase Hughes (Sadie’s older brother), she doubts herself and her gut instincts. Seeing her get a chance with either man is romance drama at its finest. I enjoy watching these two men compete for Sadie however with Sadie’s battered self esteem, it’s refreshing to see her healing and growth from both men. Plus being distracted by corporate espionage for a game deadline has everyone on edge and tense. Well written and very attentive plot make this a very good story.

Short and steamy sweet

I read this via my ku subscription. It is book 2 in a series.

Triggers:
No bad things. It is a MMF storyline (although both men focus on her here) so if you do not like that, this book isn't for you.

Spoilers:
Annie, game designer, best friends with Sadie and Lyn (b1) has crushed on Chase (Sadie's brother) and her boss Luke.

Chase had a crush on Annie when they were younger but never made any moves. As adults, he now wants more.

Luke, works with both Annie and Chase. He had a 1 nighter with Chase. Luke wants a relationship with both of them.

Misunderstandings. A little mystery/intrigue. Some sexy time. HEA

Another sweet story in the series.

Allyson Lindt is one of my favourite authors. I don’t think there is a book she’s written that I haven’t enjoyed, and this was no exception.

Luke and Anne have off-the-charts chemistry... but he’s her boss. Chase and Anne have chemistry... but he’s her best friend’s brother, and there is a lot of history. Luke and Chase both want Anne and make it known.

I loved the dynamic between Luke and Anne - the jokes and easy interactions. Chase and Anne have grown up together, so it was fun to see their dynamic change too. The only thing I wish we got to see more of was Luke and Chase’s relationship.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, but have also purchased this book.

I had read the first book in this series because I want an MMF. I must I got this book for free and since it was a little longer, thought I would give it a try. The heroine in this story is BFFs with Sadie from the first book. The summary does a better job of describing this story. There isn’t too much back story going on like the previous book. However, once again I was expecting some MM action, and other than kissing it was a bust. There is a third book is Lynn’s story and since it’s on KU and I have KU, I might read it out of curiosity to see how it all works out. I’m a glutton for punishment.

Waiting for It by Allyson Lindt

I purchased this book and audio.
I was excited to read this book. I mean what girl doesn’t love an MFM story with a side of MM?? *points to me* This girl does!!
Anne is lusting over her boss Luke. She gets caught lusting over him after a kissing session by Chase who also starts to throw his hat in the ring for Anne’s attention.
The three of them have to figure out who is stealing company information and leaking it before their big game is released. While they are working on the thief, they are also working on getting a relationship going. A few bumps, miscommunications, and “what ifs” cause some drama for the three but they all know they want to make this think work.
I gotta say I was loving the history of Chase and Luke which made everything even better when they start to give Anne some eyes. The story was a quick, steamy read for anyone who loves some funny banter and nerdy references.

Chase, Anne, and Luke … they are a steamy ménage. While it’s a little while for Anne to figure whether she’s coming or going, the guys offer her up all the room she needs to work things out in her mind. It take a little bit for her to realize that she can actually have everything that she’s wanted, even if it didn’t look like a typical relationship.

The story is told solely from Anne’s pov, and it well written with tons of back and forth between the main characters, as well as her close BFF’s that you can read about in other books. The banter is quick and sometimes humorous. While other times, can absolutely feel the sting of hurt and anger.

It’s an excellent read with an HEA.

I thought that this was a great story and the storyline was good.

I thought that this had great characterisation and I love getting to know the characters and following their stories as the book progressed, i thought that they worked really well together.

My only criticism is that I did at times feel that there was a little too much detail that detracted from the plot but overall I thought that it was a great romantic and sexy read and thoroughly enjoyable.

It was a 4 star read for me here – I really enjoyed it – highly recommended!!

Main Characters: Anne, Chase, and Luke
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars

Annie’s wait was worth it...

This author creates a brave new “world” where sexuality is fluid and lots of people are bisexual, threesomes are not unusual and geek girl coders can have their dreams come true. But, Anne has baggage and it causes her to doubt her gut instincts. Luckily she has great friends to coach her out of her head and two hot men ready to form a triad with her. Loved these characters and this spicy tale with a little suspense thrown in the mix.

An absolutely great book and three wonderful characters. The chemistry between the protagonists is so hot, it almost burns the book. A great storyline, which comes into its own in the incomparable spelling of the author.

Fun ménage but now quite as natural as book 1

I liked the dynamic between chase, Anne and Luke but it did feel really manufactured. Personally I like my relationships to grow a bit more organically. That being said, I liked the more masterful side of one of the gang in contrast with the relaxed playfulness of the other. Definitely annoy their good one by Allyson. Now on to Lyn’s story...

Sexy Software Sabotage

Chase has been lusting after and openly flirting with his sister's best friend forever, but it wasn't until he hooked up with her boss, Luke, that he realized he might have a chance. Would competing against him for Anne's attention help or cause more problems than HR could handle? Would they even have a chance to explore if their game project couldn't be fixed?

The book started out with the relationship moving quickly, then it just got bogged down by repetitiveness. And it ended very predictably.
I listened to the audiobook. The narration by Tippy Robinson was lacking all emotion and not smooth at all. Simon King did a better job, but definitely not the caliber narration I’m used to listening too. But I thought I’d take a chance on a new author and new narrators…but it didn’t pay off at all.
