This book is really interesting. It tells about his life and art. It explains how his drawings and painting style changed over time. It talks about the letters he wrote to his brother Theo and it explains how he was lonely and depressed. It shows some of his art work throughout his life and how it was dull at times and vibrant at others. How he saw the world as more than what was at face value but how technique wasn’t always important at the end. He was an Impressionist and an Expressionist. He battled mental illness and it showed through out his life and in his works of art. His life ended by him telling his brother Theo “I’ve hurt myself.” The book ends with “The best way to know God,” he said, is to love many things.” And “God helping us, we shall get through life.”
