4 "mischievous" stars

My lady mischief is a humorous, fun and romantic story which is set in the olden days where the women wore gowns, men had to have a status, and betrothals were the norm. This novel is about a stubborn yet charming lady, Althea, who is shown in love with a farmer's son, Charles Fossbinder, but is being relentlessly pursued by Hart, the Marquis of Hartingfield. This book was basically about Thea trying to get her father to approve of Charles as a husband for her because she believes she can find the kind of love her parents had with Charles. Her father didn't approve and wanted her to marry Hart. Thea thought Hart as nothing but a "rake" and wasn't ready. Hart was smitten by her and so tried to get her to marry him. Hart came to Steyn to escape from the relentless mothers and their daughters with his friend Paul McCormack. Over there he found Thea running after her pig wearing an old gown and mistakes her for a parlormaid. Hart became instantly attracted to her. After he came to know who Thea actually was he continued to chase after her while Thea tried her best to chase him off be acting wanton.

The book was hilarious and I loved the plot of the book. The only thing that stopped me from giving this book full 5 stars is that Thea was just a little too stubborn for my taste and really gave Hart a run for his money. I also felt that Hart fell in love with her a little too fast.

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There were moments where i was laughing out loud and moments where I was mentally chiding her. I loved the start of the book all the way to the end. I loved Hart and how he continued to pursue her no matter how many times she turned him down. I also liked Emma but at the beginning I contemplated whether to like her or not when she was ready to marry the guy Thea liked. Though after that she was a good friend to Thea.

I really shipped Thea and Hart and really hoped she didn't end up with Charles. The book was a delight to read and I recommend it to anyone who likes books set in the regency era as well as romance and comedy.

Oh my, oh my laugh out loud funny!! From mistaken identity to the elusive Uncle Edgar this book is full of mischief & laughter. Given to wearing old clothes around the home Lady Thea leads Hart on a merry chase trying to learn her identity. She's determined to forego a London season & wed a local farmer...he's determined not to wed anytime soon. A compromising situation changes that all. As Thea is forced into traveling with Hart to London she remains determined not to marry him. In the whirlwind of London, forces & Thea's antics & determination not to wed Hart are bent on detouring Hart's determination that he will do his gentlemanly duty & marry Thea.

I received this book as a gift from the author through The Books Machine for an honest review and is the first book of hers that I've read.

I WILL definitely be reading more!!!

This was a fun and feisty romance with a precarious beginning. They were meant for each other. So glad they finally figured it out.
