Healing Your Family History

Rate this book
This fascinating book by Rebecca Linder Hintze powerfully and effectively communicates a key, and sometimes overlooked, piece of the puzzle relating to family dynamics. For example, have you ever wondered why some families reach a ceiling on their earning potential, struggle to have happy marriages, or have such difficult interactions with their siblings and parents? Perhaps your family has a history of sabotaging careers or thwarting their love relationships? Healing Your Family History explains that most of our individual issues originate from family blocks.
As you read this book, you’ll come to understand how family belief systems store inside you and prevent individual growth by locking you into thought processes that hold you back. All families have these nonverbal belief systems, and unless you understand and heal your inherent blocks, it may be difficult to love others, move forward, and get what you want in life.
Most people have a family . . . and we all have a reason to heal our related challenges—after all, tribal issues sit at the core of world turmoil. Those who are truly ready to heal their family dysfunction will benefit immensely from this book!

I read this book too long ago to be able to give it a proper review, but this book had some enormously important and helpful ideas that have stuck with me. If you want to change your life, your relationships etc, and are of the inclination to critically think about your past then this is the book for you. I recall something about the writing that annoyed me, which is why I give it 4 stars, although I cannot remember what it was! Must re-read I guess!

I wasn't a huge fan of this book for the main reason that it was a bit 'basic' for me and didn't really add anything to my understanding of ancestral healing work. Some of the ideas were also quite 'thrown together' rather than coherently built into a whole.

For someone who is new to personal development, this is an alright place to start as it focuses on beliefs that get passed on from our tribe and some of the foundational keys to start shifting that. The journal questions in each chapter would help with that.

Iapäevaselt me ei pane üldse tähele neid (nt missugune on väärt naine- näiteks selline kelle kodu on alati puhas. Programmeerijateks on hirm, valu, raskus, mida on kogenud meie esivanemad.

How to Heal Your Family History is a book that was written to help readers connect with their ancestral roots. Rebecca Linder Hintze describes several ways to solve problems in her family history, such as learning about the lives of her ancestors. This book is beneficial for people who want to know more about their family history and find ways to improve their relationships with others who share their heritage.

Unfortunately, this book does not delve into the main problems that exist in family stories, such as abuse.

This book offered a lot of good information. I loved the firing squad story and have retold it many times. She has a good way of being keyed into her thoughts and ideas. I gave the book 3 stars because I didn’t love her writing style.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very easy to read, understand, and relate to how it applies to you. My husband is reading it now and my son is looking forward to reading it on his next break from school. I love the analogy with the ham in the beginning chapter. It shows that if you do not question why you do this particular routine you will keep doing it over and over again for generations. The key point I got out of it is to be aware of your familial patterns. Question why you do them. If it is a positive pattern keep it or if it is negative and holding you back, change it. We have the power to change our familial patterns. Great book!

I really liked learning the concepts in this book. I learned many different concepts as I read this book and one is the need for balance in my life. Also that I have the power to change some of the issues in my life that are holding me back. Easy read and recommended to anyone that wants to start making changes in their lives.

Simple, yet powerful, premise. Identify the family traits that are not enjoyable or productive, figure out where they may have come from (not as important as), then figure out how not to do them anymore!

I like the idea, but then it gets a little "The Secret" for me.

I've been learning a lot about "generational" stuff lately and what Rebecca teaches here explains and articulates that concept very clearly and scientifically. A really great book about gathering power to break familial patterns.
