In this fascinating study, the first major reassessment of Comte's sociology for years, Mike Gane draws on recent scholarship and presents a new reading of this remarkable figure. Gane's work is an essential read for all sociologists and students.
I think the author, Mike Gane, did an excellent job introducing Auguste Compte's sociology. But Compte's idea of a future utopia based on overly idolized women standing on a man-made pedastool is absurd. Just because he did that with an unrequited love, doesn't mean we all have to. There are other ridiculous ideas of his future world, but I don't want to ruin it for you.
