Sometimes unimportant books can give joy. This YA biography of several baseball players from mid-century worked for me. No depth or insight, but I admired these players growing up, the book was written then, and so effectively pushed my nostalgia buttons. Does it deserve the three stars I have it? Probably not, but it worked its magic on me. It probably helped that I read it during spring training.
