Everyday Korean Buddhist Practices

Rate this book
Our practices require a positive attitude and a fervent heart. There is no need for elaborate formalities or transcendental thinking. It doesn't matter if you practice in a temple or at home, or if a Buddha image is made of wood or iron or porcelain. Your motivation sincerity and fervor are the essentials for effective practice. It is also essential to believe that your practice will be effective. In addition, your practice has to be complete, to the exclusion of everything else. A drifting mind is a sign to increase your fervor. You should be so thoroughly absorbed in your practice that wandering thoughts don't even have a chance to arise. Then you will reach a point of total absorption where you feel the power of the budhdas and bodhisattvas, and your practice will be rewarded.
